I highly recommend visiting Singapore City Gallery — it’s absolutely worth your time. The exhibitions are incredibly engaging and thoughtfully designed, with many interactive elements that allow visitors to actively participate rather than just observe. There are plenty of hands-on activities and immersive displays, making the whole experience both fun and informative. I was truly impressed by how much there was to see and do, and I left with a deeper appreciation for Singapore’s urban planning. Definitely a must-visit spot!

Small Island Big Plans ❤️ Enjoyed the "In Our Time" mural by Lee Xin Lin Totally awesome visual narrative because it depicts an intricate, vivid landscape of Singapore, blending historical landmarks with olden days memories and local culture references. We had fun spotting and identifying and discussing the references. Later on further in the gallery, enjoyed the interactive board when we lookup our own postcodes. East side is best side! Impressive also the panoramic cityscape drawing from memory by the autistic savant. Somebody help solve the mystery what is the landmark way further back. Even the on-site gallery guide wasn't sure. We also love maps so studying the colonial maps and historical evolution of cartography made us wonder what it was like way back ancient years ago

Good for a quick visit. 45 mins max is good enough… it’s not expansive. Get to learn a lil about infra development in Singapore. E.g., How train tracks have been repurposed as nodes of public gathering.. how buildings have evolved to be more ‘sustainable’ etc.

Yes 5 stars for free, please make more places free to visit. It is highly interacted and a good learning source about how Singapore is formed and developed the way it is. There are a total of 3 floors (ground floor, 2nd floor and 3rd floor) to visit and I went through all within 1.5 hours (not reading all because my aunt is not interested as much, but we took plenty of pictures). I think it’s suitable for rainy days, low budget, chill museum vibes, and fun for explore around.

As a history teacher, I found the Singapore City Gallery to be a masterclass in storytelling. It is deeply informative and educational, tracing the island’s evolution with incredible precision. What surprised me was how engaging and moving ALL the exhibits were, seeing the delicate balance between heritage preservation and future-ready planning. A must-visit for anyone who wants to understand the 'why' behind the skyline. Don’t skip this! The Singapore City Gallery is a hidden gem for history buffs and urban explorers. It’s educational, engaging, and deeply moving to see how much thought goes into every square inch of this city. A highly informative experience that makes your city walks much more meaningful. A total must-visit!
