I was a little taken aback by the poor reviews initially, but I actually enjoyed this! Ordered no. 20 on their menu - the sliced fish pao fan ($6.30). Added 2 prawn paste balls, total came up to $8.30 - which I found pretty pricey for the portion size. Taste wise, the broth was savoury, comforting and not overly salty. The server was really generous with the crispy puffed rice bits, which made it extra satisfying - loved the texture as the rice bits softened in the soup :) The prawn balls ($1 each) were well seasoned and springy, though I do feel that their add-ons are quite expensive in general. Would give this spot a 7/10 - 9/10 for the taste, 5/10 in terms of how value for money it is.

It was raining ☔️ and I walked into the hawker center and saw a queue 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️🚶at this fish 🐟 stall. Decided to give it a try. Guys….. don’t even try man. 🙅‍♂️🙅‍♀️🙅🚫🚫🚫 The Malaysian 🇲🇾 group in front of me kept telling the aunty that the food served to them has missing ingredients compared to the photos at the stall. And the aunty proceed to add item by item as the complain came along …. That was just damn funny 🤣🤣🤣 (forgive me! 😇) and all the while she was rude! After seeing the group, I tried to skip my order and told the aunty “I wanted to….” She cut me short and shouted “I started cooking already!” Well….. suck it up. I ordered the Dual Fish 🐟🐠 Pao Fan 🍚. Kindly refer to my pics 📸 and video 📽️ and see if you can figure out what was severed to me? No colour, tasteless and bloody expensive 💸💸💸. The photos at the stall are just too well taken…. Amazing picture vs the actual food that was being serve. I honestly felt I was con. Was it good? NO! Pls don’t go! Don’t be curious and don’t ask why all the dishes soup are clear in colour, I think we should never investigate. #worseofmaxwellfoodcenter #banthisstore #deathbypaofan

Bad attitude, poor quality of food. I question why they’re still open at this point. Laksa reviews you see online about them are true. Friends ordered laksa and paofan, looked nothing like laksa, the other only 3 slices of fish. They won’t ask you what noodles you want either.

The worst food I have ever eaten in my Singapore trip and I highly recommend everyone go to Malaysia or Hong Kong to see what the real Laksa looks like and tastes is. There is a huge and amazing difference between the pictures of menu and real things(see my photos ). I really feel like I was cheated by the restaurant owner and hope everyone can refer to this reviews to avoid bad food experience.
