This place serves some pretty delicious food and I'm not sure why so many reviews are saying the auntie is rude when I found her quite friendly. I ordered their fried oyster and Char Kway Teow (Signature Fried Kway Teow). The char kway teow is delicious, suitable amount of wok hey taste, and the flavour is just perfect. Portion size is also reasonable for $5 though a larger adult might suit the $8 portion better. The fried oyster is pretty decent, it contained more eggs than starch which is what I prefer. It also contained around 5 oysters which is reasonable for the price of $6 in this location. The portion size could be a little bit bigger, and the chilli tasted more like chicken rice chilli, which is not very suitable for this dish. It would've been better if the chilli was more sour and tangy. Overall pretty decent experience dining here. Reasonable price tag with delicious food. I will return again for the char kway teow.
View on GoogleThey serve a surprisingly nice char kway teow, it features a good mix of sweet and savoury with some wok hei and it’s not overly dry or moist. It was quite delicious. While the owners are not very friendly, I did not experience the rudeness some of the reviewers encountered(thankfully).
View on GoogleI would have given 0 stars if possible. Food was honestly damn average , can easily find better quality elsewhere. Nothing special at all. But what was worse was the attitude. Attitude towards locals was terrible, yet they seemed to treat ang moh customers much better, probably thinking they can’t even taste how awful the food actually is.
View on GoogleThe oyster omelet here was delicious. However, the oldman at the reception had a major attitude problem. To start with, he couldn't speak English, and even when I tried to use gestures to explain what I needed, he just kept shouting the same thing at me with an angry look on his face. After a kind local nearby helped me translate so I could order and pay, he started yelling again when he brought the food. From his tone, it seemed like he was demanding payment again, so I had to gesture that I had already paid. Once again, the kind local had to step in and explain it to him, and he finally backed off, looking clearly dissatisfied. He seems to have real trouble remembering things. I went back the next day for some Hokkien mee, and fortunately, there was a young man at the reception. He spoke English well and provided excellent, polite service, which made for a much more pleasant experience.
View on GoogleI ordered a $6 char kway teow for early dinner around 5pm just for myself. Without any queue, I could see what the senior auntie was doing; a plate full of fresh ingredient for cooking. The order was quick. Char Kway Teow is balanced, not too oily, cockles taste fresh, and the overall is not overcooked with too much char. I guess you should ready your payment and don’t expect too much on the service beyond the product delivery if you have plenty of orders, or variety of orders. The stall is just manned by one senior auntie working during that period after all.
