The peanut soup at this dessert stall was comfortingly delicious and unpretentious. The peanuts in the soup were meltingly soft and really creamy. The tau suan (mung bean soup) was so popular that it was sold out. Got to try it the next time I'm there!
View on GoogleBeen some time since I last patronized this stall. Ordered the peanuts soup with tang yuan. It costs $2, and it came with 3 tang yuan balls, 2 peanut filling and 1 sesame filling. The tang yuan were good, but I felt the soup was rather lacking. Teh taste was mild and light. I remember it tasting better in the past. They also have red bean soup with brown rice which you can include the tang yuan and tau suan. It was just ok.
View on GoogleFinally got to revisit this place after it reopened—and it was so worth the wait! The $2 bowl of peanut soup with tang yuan is simple, comforting, and absolutely delicious. The sweetness of the peanut soup is just right, and the glutinous rice balls have a unique texture and taste. Tried the tau suan as well, and it was equally satisfying. Quality and heart in every bowl—highly recommended! ps. do note it closes at 2pm and sometimes it runs out before that!
View on GoogleNothing is more comforting than drinking a bowl of peanut soup with tang yuan in a rainy day. This stall has been around for decades. Their peanut soup was made just right, peanuts not too mushy not too hard, sweetness level was right on the spot too! I believe the stall owner might have added some coconut milk in the soup making it extremely tasty. $2 is very cheap indeed!
View on GoogleShould have read the other negative reviews. The peanuts soup is hot pure sugar water with very little peanuts. He serves the scalding hot soup in a plastic container so he fills it up only 3/4 of the way. I asked for a second plastic spoon and uncle says “no extras!” Lesson learned and won’t be back. Plenty of other stalls in Maxwell with good food and service.
