We had a room to ourselves and dishes were very yummy. Dessert is not too sweet. We particularly like the yam buns and xiao long baos. Price is reasonable.
View on GoogleOrdered a few of their dishes and all were too oily. Couldn’t taste any Shrimp roe in the wanton and the soup was so oily. The worst of them all was the 红油抄手- bland, oily and no vinegary taste at all. Worst I’ve ever tasted. Fried noodles was ok but my whole mouth was greasy after eating. Overall, I really missed their dishes in the past (perhaps more than 15 years ago). This shall be my last visit. Totally not worth it.
View on GoogleI chose the crispy bean curd skin with mushrooms. Delicious! A little oily but hey it’s fried a little bit. The woman who works there helped me choose a veggie lunch. It’s good place!
View on GoogleLast week, Cong, a server at Ye Chun Xiao Jiang Nan Restaurant, was enthusiastically promoting some of their signature dishes, which piqued our interest and led us to dine there on March 4. We each ordered a combo meal, including the Gong Bao Chicken set, which came with a choice of tea or Coke, two slices of orange, and peanuts. Additionally, we ordered a plate of fried salted egg prawn balls and sliced potatoes. Overall, the food was flavorful. We provided feedback to Cong, suggesting that the dishes could be less oily. Surprisingly, despite the oiliness of the Gong Bao Chicken, it did not leave any unpleasant aftereffects. Cong’s service was commendable—he patiently explained the menu and sincerely introduced their top-selling dishes. Another plus is that this Restaurant offers vegan options. Will dine in again to try other dishes.
View on GoogleExtremely kind & polite lady owner! We were an Indian tourist couple, really hungry on our first day in Singapore & didn’t know restaurants close down early. We were exhausted by all the walking in Marina Bay Area & famished. We had gone shopping after sightseeing in the Raffles mall adjoining our Hotel. Everything else around was shut down, all the food courts and flatly refused to serve vegetarian food. This restaurant was almost closing down by 9:30pm when we requested for a meal. They politely explained the menu, which we didn’t understand much as mostly Chinese. They serving hot noodle vegetarian soup for me and chicken noodle broth for my husband alongwith Chinese rice wine in a beautiful bottle. I have even preserved the beautiful jade colored bottle as a momento. I will never forget the lady owner even took nice photos of us and patiently waited for us to finish our meal. God bless this enterprise & its people & that Chinese lady for their kindness.
