We had a wonderful dining experience at Saboten. The food was very authentic Japanese tonkatsu, incredibly tasty, and truly delicious. Every dish was well-prepared with a perfectly crispy coating and tender meat inside. The portions were also very generous and satisfying. A special mention to Alan, our waiter, who was very humble, polite, and friendly throughout our visit. His warm service made the experience even more enjoyable. The ambiance was cozy and relaxing, with nice background music that created a calm and comfortable dining atmosphere. Overall, it was truly worth it and highly recommended for anyone looking for quality Japanese tonkatsu in Singapore.
View on GoogleI usually go to Tonkatsu by Ma Maison, so I had a certain expectation coming here. First time trying Saboten, and it didn’t disappoint. The tonkatsu is well-prepared — crispy on the outside, tender and juicy inside. I’d say it’s at par with Ma Maison, which is a good standard to match. Bonus points for the matcha ice cream dessert — a nice way to end the meal. Overall, a solid option if you’re craving good tonkatsu.
View on GoogleHave not visited this place for quite some time but to my pleasant surprise, it is as good as it was the last time! Everyone was happy with their food. Good quality, high standard, hot and crispy without being oily and rice is glistening and everything is delicious! Happy that it is open during CNY!
View on GoogleUsed to come here all the time with family, but after a while service deteriorated. Just came here again with wife for a date night and I'm glad to say that it's much better. Ordered a Canadian pork katsu set, chicken Katsu special set, and an iced green tea (water is chargeable at 50c). The food is consistently good, one is the better Tonkatsu chains here. I couldn't really taste the difference between the Canadian and regular pork though. The sets come with chawanmushi, free flow shredded cabbage and rice, miso soup, and matcha ice cream. Service this time is much better. They served us the chawanmushi first, which I quickly finished but my wife hadn't started, and suddenly someone came and said our batch was too watery and offered to replace it, but it was fine to us. Ambience is nice and bright. Total came up to about $70.
View on GoogleSaboten at Millennia Walk is a reliable choice, particularly for lunch with colleagues, though it's not the cheapest option around. Their tonkatsu and tempura are excellent. I recommend the Saboten Special Set for its variety—it allows you to sample several signature dishes. The service is adequate. It's just unfortunate that the dining space is quite small; I would definitely avoid it if a queue was involved.
