I came here almost by accident for my last dinner in Singapore, and I am very glad I did. I ordered the braised duck with ginger and it was genuinely very good. The duck arrived in a covered claypot, still bubbling when they opened it at the table. The ginger had lost its sharp spiciness from the long cooking and became soft and mellow, and worked perfectly with the duck. Even the presentation made the dish feel special. What I appreciated just as much was the service. I had prepared a few choices from the menu and the waitress calmly helped me decide. She wasn’t trying to make me order more than I could eat. When I was considering sake or beer, she suggested tea instead, and it turned out to be a really good recommendation. She also explained how to eat the dish and suggested dipping the rice into the broth. Small things, but I genuinely felt looked after. The restaurant itself had the same feeling. Nice environment, and the whole team seemed sharp, calm and in control. Thank you to the kitchen and especially to the waitress who looked after me. This was one of the meals from my Singapore trip that I will remember and I will come back next time 🙂
View on Googlethe food her was great not too salty and have varieties of Chinese food the price was reasonable but the small are super small portion in my opinion. The environment was great but today was crowded so the service was a bit slow. But overall it was pretty good.
View on GoogleVery attentive service by the wait staff. We walked in without a reservation and although we were told the dining duration was an hour, they didn't rush us to finish our food. We had the fried beehoon which I forgot to ask them to omit coriander but it was still nice. The Duotou Clams were exceptionally succulent and lightly flavoured to enhance the natural sweetness of the clams. The loofah was as expected (but I like them cooked a little softer). The pan-fried Yellow Croaker amazed my friend who doesn't usually like fried fish - there was no fishiness and the meat wasn't dry nor flaky. The fried brinjals were overpowered by pork floss, only if you're a fan of pork floss - which we were. Stirfried beef is a very unlikely dish in Putien because it's very 'mala', but we loved the tender beef and crunchy bamboo shoots.
View on GoogleThis is one of the nicest outlet of Putien. (Used to patronize the GWC branch, but the seatings too limited and dining area lack privacy). Suntec Putien is posh settings. And my family like more so when the annual mini bamboo clams in season. Ordered 2 versions of the clams, and the kampung chicken with lily bulb. Vinegar seaweed as appetizer. And their classic braised noodles for carbs. (Wished they bring back the steamed clams with Chinese wine, which was available in past years offerings) All dishes were executed nicely. And prices are reasonable with NO GST and Service Charge!
View on GoogleHad an excellent family lunch here. The flavour of every dish ordered, especially their seafood, is outstanding with premium quality. An interesting and superb dish is their salt baked mackerel, which is seasonal. Service is friendly and attentive and the ambience is relaxing. We will be back for sure.
