Did you know that Miharu Ramen has been around in Singapore for many years now? Not me… until the staff told me about it when I visited them at Meidi-ya Millenia Walk recently. Before they moved to their current space, they were at Great World City and quite popular with the folks around the area. And the current chef is 2nd generation already. I had the Tokusei Ramen - The broth has a reddish hue to it and is actually a little more cloudy that what seems like a clear soup base in the photo. The miso taste is quite strong and its not the usual type that is sweeter. Given the colour of the broth, it seems likely that red miso is used here. Also there’s a hint of what seems like Shoyu aftertaste to me. Overall it’s not bad and rather different Sapporo ramen from what you find in Singapore and is close to some of the ramen I had in Sapporo before.

This was easily the worst bowl of ramen I’ve had in a very long time, and nothing like what one gets in Sapporo. The noodles were poorly boiled and clumped together in various places. The meat was too thick, dry, and cool in the middle. And the broth was absurdly salty. There are far better places to get ramen in Singapore. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this one.

I have been to this eating area that is part of Meijiya countless times, but this is the first time I am eating this Ramen (thanks to a sudden Ramen crave). I must say this is by far the nicest Ramen. I also learnt that the eatery first started at Gallery (Hotel) and moved to a couple other locations after that, and they have fans following them. I like their Ramen for that perfectly cooked noodle and flavourful broth. If you like it less salty, the chef said you can request for clear broth to add to it. I also like the bamboo shoot which is by far the sweetest I have tried. Other than the clear pork bone broth that is prepared locally, the key ramen ingredients are shipped from Sapporo. The best part about eating here is that if you love Sake, the Dassai is just two stalls away and is sold at supermarket price - perfect with the Ramen.

Been a huge fan of Miharu from since their Gallery days. Then moving on to Millienia, followed by the South Beach before popping up within Meidiya's cooked food section. My reviews of each of their previous location sees an unfortunate downward pattern. The worst being my 1 star review of their South Beach JV. This outlet still serves my favorite variety noodle. Curly thick strands that manages to scoop up soup stock, great texture and bite. There's nothing else flattering to say here on. Tonkotsu stock not as lip smacking collagen rich. Negi replaced with a chinese variety spring green. Ajitama was bland. Small silver of char siew that resembled closer to plain boiled lean pork. Not horrible that's for sure. But for close to $18 for a bowl of ramen, that's a pale shade of its former self. Fingers crossed, this is just a teething issue in a new environment.

Hokkaido Style Miso Ramen, topped with slices of teriyaki pork, boiled eggs, spring onion, corn, and bamboo shoots. Hearty and flavorful bowl of wrinkle noodles with kotteri( rich with chilli oil) soup. Really authentic taste and cozy atmosphere. There are some tables and counter seats as well. For ordering, you fill out the order form and pay first.
