Food is not bad, kinda similar to the other chains. As usual, would recommend the Dan gui duck, the sauce goes very well with rice. Otherwise the service is a little uncoordinated. We actually ordered the cold tofu dessert as part of the lunch set but was never served. But the time we recall it, we have already left. Thought it should be more automatic. Also they mixed up our hot tea with hot water and rice with porridge initially. Better double check you get what you ordered
View on GoogleThe food was excellent, but the white rice was unfortunately very poor. It was dry, grainy, and lacked the texture and quality expected from a good bowl of rice. The rice felt completely disconnected from the dishes it was served with. While rice may appear to be a simple component, when it is not done well, it can undermine the enjoyment of an otherwise outstanding meal. I hope this can be improved in the future.
View on GoogleBrought along 10 other family members for lunch and was panicking with the big group order when restaurant staff Xu Yu stepped in to help. Under her advice, I managed to order the correct dish sizes and using the correct right discount/ vouchers to help offset on the bill. 5 🌟 for her service siah! Very grateful with Xu Yu's help. Food was nice and my family members are happy with the food. Will come back again.
View on GoogleCame here during my trip to Singapore. We ordered the Sambal Squid n Prawn, Asam Sliced Garoupa, Roasted Duck, Sour Fish Soup, Bamboo Soup and Cordyceps. The food was very very tasty, it was flavourful and hot. My personal favourite was the Sour Fish Soup, it was sour and had a mala feeling to it. Even after I was finished with the fish, I was constantly drinking the soup as well. The Sambal Squid n Prawn was spicy and sweet, it was tasty. The Asam Sliced Garoupa was spicy and tasty too. Not a big fan of duck meat but the Roasted Duck was okay too. At first sip I thought the Bamboo Soup was really good, but it gets even better when you get into the main dishes. The cordyceps were good as well coming from a picky eater that barely eats vege. The service was so-so, the staff didnt necessarily talk rudely but it wasnt polite either. Other than that, our food was brought out really quickly. Overall it was a good experience, I really recommend coming here to try the food, you wouldn't wanna miss it.
View on GoogleCame to marina square after a long haitus, and decided to give DXE a try. Alas, seems like the ingredients are here, but the fragrance and taste wasn't able to be brought out at all. Most dishes taste of saltiness and that's about it. Appetisers seem like it came out of a pack, like those you get from Scarlett for $1 a pack. We had the: Angelica sauce 1/2 duck Luffa Beancurd Cauliflower with prawn paste Pork slices with bell pepper Doubt we will be back given the plentiful other choices at MS 🤔
