Setsuri is a brilliant concept by the renowned Ishinomaki Group (the same team behind the highly-rated Ishinomaki Grill & Sake at Palais Renaissance). Here is everything one need to know about them. The Concept: A Masterclass in Japanese Grilling What makes Setsuri truly special is that it is a multi-faceted dining destination. It is one of the first Japanese restaurants in Singapore to bring together several traditional Japanese cooking methods under one roof: Genshiyaki & Robatayaki: Traditional charcoal grilling where ingredients are cooked slowly over an open fire to extract their best natural flavors. Warayaki: Straw-roasting, which gives the seafood and meat an incredibly distinct, smoky aroma (their Straw Grilled Smoked Tuna is a massive crowd-pleaser). Teppanyaki & Sashimi: They also feature premium cuts of beef, beautiful Bento sets, and the freshest seasonal seafood. To top it off, they boast an extensive selection of craft sake, curated by co-owner Janice Chi, who is Singapore’s first female Master Sake Sommelier!
View on GoogleHad a lovely date night here. The food was delicious and the sashimi was fresh - best flounder we ever tasted! Love the crab chawamushi. Service by Gloria was also great and attentive. Would definitely return again!
View on GoogleGood family weekend lunch for 7 of us. Will definitely be back for dinner. Grilled foods are worth a try. Desserts were tasty too!
View on GoogleHad a really enjoyable meal here — the presentation of the bento set was beautiful and every dish felt thoughtfully prepared. The variety was especially impressive, with a good balance of fresh sashimi, grilled items, small appetisers and comforting warm dishes all in one tray. See attached photo of seasonal bento, and tendon and seasonal bento. The sashimi was fresh and nicely chilled, while the grilled fish had a light smoky flavour without being too salty. I also liked how the meal included little side dishes that added different textures and flavours throughout the experience. The tempura rice bowl was crispy and satisfying, and the soup helped tie the whole meal together. Beyond the food itself, the set felt very authentic and carefully curated, almost like a mini kaiseki-style experience at a reasonable portion size. Service was good and the overall dining atmosphere felt calm and welcoming. Definitely a place I would return to for a well-balanced and aesthetically pleasing Japanese meal.
View on GoogleHaving dined at Isanomaki in Orchard before, I can say this is truly my absolute favorite Japanese restaurant in Singapore! The freshness of the sashimi is absolutely perfect—way ahead of other places The quality is just as amazing as what you’d get in authentic Japan All their dishes have that perfect, delicate Japanese flavor that is so hard to find elsewhere Also, the service here is absolute perfection The staff are amazing Highly recommended and will definitely be back!
