MMilky Fish is a comforting takeaway that still tastes fresh and satisfying even after bringing it home. The soup is light, clean and soothing, with a gentle milky richness that does not feel too heavy. The prawns are fresh, firm and naturally sweet, giving the bowl a nice seafood sweetness. The fish slices are tender and smooth, and they absorb the flavour of the soup very well. I also like that the ingredients are simple but well balanced, with tofu, greens and seafood making it feel wholesome. For takeaway, the quality holds up nicely. The soup still tastes warm, clean and comforting, which makes it a good choice when you want something nourishing rather than oily or overly salty. A very satisfying bowl.

Full bodied flavoured soups. There are options for meat lovers like their pork soup and chicken dang gui. The grilled fish is a must try as well. Could do with more vegetable options (I need my fibre dose!), that said they do have a decent amount of root vegetables in the soup - including mountain yam which my TCM says is very good for you. May have a short queue at times but it moves fast.

Visited Milkfish at Raffles City recently and decided to try their signature milkfish soup. I ordered both the original milk broth and the tomato-based soup to compare. The milkfish itself was actually quite good, the fish tasted fresh, tender, and didn’t have a strong fishy taste, which I appreciated. The tomato soup base was slightly tangy and appetizing, while the original milk broth was more comforting and creamy in flavor. However, the overall experience was a bit mixed mainly because of the price. The portions felt quite modest for what you’re paying, and the overall value didn’t feel very convincing compared to other similar fish soup places around. While the quality of the fish is decent, the pricing feels slightly on the higher side for a casual meal. Overall, it’s not a bad place if you’re specifically craving milkfish, but considering the portion size and price point, I’m not sure it would be a place I’d return to frequently.

Went to this place around 2:30 on a Friday afternoon and it was relatively quiet. In fact, we were the only customers when we left. The baked glazed milkfish was excellent, especially the belly fat. The batang fish soup was also great. The dishes are brought out when they are prepared so we all started at different times. Not a problem for our family but just be aware. Service was reduced because I got the Tea Time special which came with some extra items. I gave the staff some extra time to bring it out, thinking they would realize it, but after I was halfway through my meal, did I have to ask a server. She admitted her error but I was not as forgiving seeing how quiet it was. The pricing on the items is a bit high except for the special, which was well priced.
