Visited for dinner on a Friday evening, around 7:30 p.m. The restaurant was full, and we waited around 15 mins for seats by the bar. If we waited for seats at the regular tables, the wait would have been longer. We tried their Special Toripaitan, Truffle Shoyu and their Spicy Toripaitan. I personally ordered the Special Toripaitan which was rich and creamy, and came with different cuts of chashu (ranking in order of preference: wagyu, chicken, duck, pork), smoked ajitama and fried burdock root. While it tasted good, it's not the best ramen I've had and the soup can get a bit too rich towards the end, but it's still a bowl I would recommend if you like rich soups. The Spicy Toripaitan was described to contain laksa leaves, and it actually does have a laksa aftertaste. It's also good and if you want something with local flair, this would be a good bowl to get. As for the Truffle Shoyu, it's much lighter tasting than the other 2 bowls and was refreshing as the soup also contains yuzu. While this bowl is significantly cheaper than the other 2, it doesn't come with meat toppings as it's vegan friendly. Therefore, if you want more protein, you should add on meat toppings/an ajitama. We also ordered a serving of their custard kuzumochi to share. It comes with 3 pieces and is served with a kinako crumble and brown sugar syrup. It's a nice refreshing dessert to end off the meal but if you care, as we were seated at the bar, we saw that the kuzumochi comes frozen and the kitchen staff heat it up in the microwave before serving it. Doesn't affect the taste at all and we enjoyed it still. Overall, would recommend visiting once to try, but I don't think it can be a regular ramen place as the price is a bit high (e.g., Special Toripaitan was $28 before GST/SVC charge).
View on GoogleWent for lunch on a Saturday and it wasn’t too crowded (near 12noon). Enjoyed the Classic Toripaitan and found the Duck Matcha interesting! The Signature Toripaitan’s soup base was smokier and had stronger a mushroom flavour to it than the Classic’s. The chicken broths were creamy and flavourful. The buckwheat noodles were springy and well cooked. Overall, very enjoyable meal and I’ll likely be back again.
View on GoogleI ordered the Signature Toripaitan ramen, and it was excellent. The broth was rich, thick, and full of flavour. The chashu was incredibly tender and had absorbed the delicious chicken broth, making every bite satisfying. The restaurant also offers a beautiful view overlooking Marina Bay Sands, which made the dining experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!
View on GoogleVery decent ramen! Ramen broth was super thick and flavourful. I would recommend their signature ramen ☺️ Their takoyaki and fried enoki side dishes were good as well, worth a try for sure. Ambience was super nice as well, they have seats at the window with a nice view! Good date spot! Highly recommend to come and try this ramen spot. Would definitely visit again, overall I’ll give it a solid 4 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
View on GoogleOverall, I had a great experience at Mensho Tokyo SG. The Chilli Crab Ramen was the highlight of the meal—rich, flavorful, and definitely worth trying. The Unagi was also delicious and well prepared. We spent over $100 for the meal, so I did find the prices a little on the expensive side. I also felt the Wagyu Sushi was a bit underwhelming and didn’t quite justify the price. That said, the food quality, service, and atmosphere were all excellent. If you’re visiting for the ramen, especially the Chilli Crab Ramen, I would definitely recommend it. The overall experience was enjoyable despite the higher price point.
