A survivor of the sushi chain wars of the 2010s, Ichiban Boshi continues to deliver its concept of upmarket Singapore-Japanese food. Bluebewie hadn't known about this place even after spending a few years here. (shock!) Now I can claim the credit of introducing her to this spot. Excellent for solo diners and groups alike. To be fair, would say it's one of the few places which doesn't penalize solo diners as much, you can feel comfy here and the portions aren't too large or too small. Shoutout to their dragon rolls, tempura, curry, agedashi tofu, semi-seared salmon maki. Gosh, just about every item they have is not bad. It's the first place where I first realized the utility of just adding a slice of american cheese onto a dish. (don't know if their cheese is american sliced cheese, but its not far off) You'll almost always feel satisfied after a stint at Ichiban Boshi. Price is a little upmarket it, but they provide consistent value for it. And thats often what you want in a restaurant.

28 Nov 25- everything was good, taste and presentation. Service of dishes could be more well planned/served more closely together rather than one at a time over 30min. The shabu hotpots could take longer than 10min to fully boil, so you'll likely need a top up of petroleum fuel. Staff were very nice and polite. Sitting at a booth could require more frequent calls to the server.

I ordered the Tonkatsu ramen (SGD17.10 after using Shopback Pay) as takeaway and I ate it immediately as office just upstairs. They gave a lot of skinny yellow noodles so carbohydrates portion is super filling for a small eater like me but overall it tasted just passable; the broth is abit too salty. There is very little meat in the ramen which is acceptable to me as I try to eat as little meat as possible.

Went during lunchtime and managed to get a seat for walk in. Food took quite long to serve but it is the lunch crowd so is understandable. But the food is really fresh and portion is generous. Squid is not overcooked and the sauce is really nice. Overall a good experience. Will go again

A decent place to eat good Japanese food after a work day in CBD. Decent quality at a reasonable price. They try to innovate once in a while with new dishes, but more often than not, these innovations are mostly excessive layering of ingredients that cover each other flavours rather than enhancing the ingredients. Have you ever heard of avocado tempura? Sounds interesting, right? Too bad the tempura with the cheese does not mix well with the avocado, and you end up just tasting fried batter with melted cheese and some not so flavourful avocado in the middle
