tried the dry laksa, otah, and kueh kueh! laksa noodle is very chewy, love it. sauce is on the creamier side, different version from what i usually have. prawns are bouncy. the big laksa portion is good for 2-3 ppl if u order that as the only dish. otah came on a sizzling hot plate over a banana leaf. it has a little nice fragrant and slightly crispy coating. can see why its worth the special mention in reviews. kueh kueh is fresh, can taste the pandan and creamy coconut! one of the best nyonya kueh ive had! overall very touched by the service. we came on a sunday evening and there was nobody. despite having to set up the shop just for us, the staff was hosting us with warmth and kindness and utmost hospitality, making us feel at home

Really enjoyed my lunch here! Deco is traditional Peranakan style, spacious and very suitable for gathering with family and friends. Loved every dishes we ordered, personally favorite was the fried laksa 😍 Aunty was also super nice and gifted us some handcrafted dessert 木薯糕, which was soft and tasty 😋 Would definitely visit again!

Excellent customer services. Friendly and cheerful staff. Almost full house when we visit. Price is reasonable. Dishes are tasty yet not salty. Recommend nonya chap chye, lemongrass drink and ayam buah keluak.

Great service! Food tastes excellent. Fish head curry was really good and the otah was very on point. Goes very well with rice. Desserts and Kuehs were fabulous. Definitely gotta try the durian pengat, chendol and kuehs when u are there. There’s also a dedicated page of vegetarian options. Very thoughtful

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Straits Chinese Nonya Restaurant at Keck Seng Road with my family visiting from overseas, and we were all thoroughly impressed. The restaurant offers an authentic and delicious taste of Nonya cuisine that left a lasting impression on all of us. Every dish was lovingly prepared and rich in traditional Peranakan flavors — a true celebration of heritage cuisine. The service was also impeccable; the staff were attentive, warm, and made us feel right at home. It was a wonderful experience seeing my family enjoy the food and hospitality so much. A small point of feedback: while the curry fish head had a generous portion of vegetables like brinjal and lady’s fingers, we found it a bit difficult to locate much of the actual fish head. It would have been even better with a more balanced portion of fish. That said, the other dishes more than made up for it — everything from the chap chye to the ayam buah keluak was outstanding. Overall, I highly recommend The Straits Chinese Nonya Restaurant for anyone looking to experience authentic and satisfying Nonya fare. We’ll definitely be back again!
