Quite shocked that Singapore bak kut teh is pepper soup, but the soup was good, pork was good, vegy was good, you tiao also amazing, not too salty not too crispy but just right. Definitely recommend. There is also free flow soup, and it’s hot, so super good
View on GoogleThis place, nestled on the second level of an older building, offers a diverse menu featuring pork ribs, lean meats, and liver, among other dishes. The bakut teh is surprisingly delightful, with a rich and flavorful soup. Adding a bit of extra chili would elevate the taste even further. The portions of lean meat, liver, and other ingredients in the bakut teh soup are generous. The prices are also reasonable. The braised peanut and prawn rolls are an absolute must-try, and they are equally excellent. However, one downside is that the soup is not hot enough, which is not ideal for a hearty meal. The service can also be patchy, with some staff members not being attentive to customer requests. Despite these minor issues, this place is a surprisingly good spot for bakut teh in the area. It’s worth giving it a try.
View on GoogleI ordered a few dishes, including the signature bak kut teh. Really enjoyed the bold peppery taste. Despite there being no service charge, the staff still went around offering soup refills. Would recommend, and will definitely visit again! ⭐️
View on GoogleHad lunch at Hwa Ji Bak Kut Teh in the CBD — a solid spot for comforting, traditional bak kut teh. The broth is peppery, aromatic, and well-balanced without being too overpowering. The pork ribs were tender and came off the bone easily. Portion size is quite decent for the price, especially considering it’s in the CBD area.
View on GoogleIt is directly opposite our office and now I am providing review after few years. You have to go early before noon. Else, you might need to sit downstairs, which is a bit hot with other patrons smoking. Upstairs is cool but limited seating. Order via the paper and payment only via PayNow or Cash only. Food came fast and we ordered a spread of food which is very tasty. Overall, if you have a craving for Bak Kut Teh, you can come here, but there are better ones.
