Hokkien restaurant that has been around for decades, still very well kept and kept up till date and still holding on to some memories of the old day. Haven’t been here in a long time and decided to come for a Sunday lunch with the family. Food was still very good and service was great wait staff gave just the appropriate amount attention. Started with the hokkien fish maw soup which was well balanced in taste, again a bit of an acquired taste for many. Restaurants that make the traditional fried hokkein mee, which need some braising to get this flavour and I very much enjoyed this one taking 3 servings. The this oyster omelette is also pretty unique and not a common serve. In general all the food was good! Sorry I couldn’t get a picture of the omelette as everyone was chowing away.
View on GoogleBeng Thin Hoon Kee Restaurant is a famous Teochew Cuisine in Shenton Way area. I used to eat there a few times over dinner and the overall Teochew food quite nice. Today I booked a table for the Mother’s Day set lunch of $858++ for 8pax. I ordered another 3 extra dishes and the overall billed $1000+… I was quite disappointed with all the set lunch dishes. The food either overcooked and tasted weird. I think I will never come back here for any special day lunches or dinners.
View on GooglePopular hokkien restaurant which has been around for decades. Packed to the brim when we visited during lunch. Tried their 8 persons 2026 CNY Reunion Set lunch. Refer to photo for menu. Well executed dishes with generous ingredients and portion. Recommend the crab meat pottage, cod fish, crispy chicken and the braised pork bun. Happy that the culinary standards is well maintained throughout the decades.

View on GoogleWas searching for a good Hokkien cuisine restaurant for a lunch date with the missus, and found this restaurant with pretty good reviews. Decided to give it a try. Made a reservation and called in to enquire the best drop off point to find them. The person who answered my call was very helpful and precise in giving directions. When we arrived, greetings and welcome were warm. The atmosphere was pleasant and cozy. We ordered their popular dishes: Fish maw and crab meat soup, hokkien mee, 五香虾枣, braised pork belly & buns. Overall all was good, with the fish maw crab meat soup and the 五香 standing out. The soup had a generous amount of fish maw, flavour was very good. It would be better if there was a significant amount of crab meat too. Forgot to inform the manager that there was a small fish bone and a couple of fish gills in the soup. Very dangerous especially for children and elderly people. Hope the restaurant reads this and takes note to strain the broth properly. Braised pork belly & buns: well braised without being overwhelming and a good balance of fatty parts to meat. Quality of buns were good too. Hokkien mee: overall taste was ok but it became too thick as the dish cooled down while we were eating. A bit disappointed that they use IQF prawns for this dish. It was a nice lunch overall.
