This Baker & Cook is a great spot for casual meetings and catch-ups. We had hot chocolates and coffee here, and the drinks were enjoyable and well prepared. In the midst of a demanding routine, this café has become my sanctuary on work-from-home days. For months, I’ve kept to the same order, scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and a coffee. Simple, consistent, and always good. On the days I get a window table, I truly savour the moment. Service is usually a highlight. Charisma, in particular, is wonderful, always smiling and attentive, remembering even small details like how I take my jam. However, a recent experience with another waitress (from Thailand) was disappointing. I arrived just five minutes past the brunch cut-off. When I ordered, she frowned and pointed at the glass, saying “this is all we have.” I tried to lighten the moment and make a joke that I should’ve walked faster, but her response was curt and dismissive. Throughout, she seemed irritated and unwelcoming. You have a wonderful place, but it only takes one unpleasant staff to affect the business . FYI I’ve since heard similar feedback from others about this Thai waitress.

The 2 lady service staff are real friendly. We bought a coffee and a baby cino and some take aways. We did not manage to finish our drinks and she gave us 2 take away cups to pack our drinks. So thoughtful.

I have been eating the eggs Benedict sure bacon at Baker & Cook for numerous years. Usually one of my favorite breakfasts in Singapore. Today was disappointing. There was not enough bacon to cover both pieces of toast. The eggs were cooked properly, but were served cold. The hollandaise cause was also cold. Didn’t finish the food. This should not have happened because I was the first customer in the shop today.

We’ve been loyal customers of Baker & Cook for over a decade, and it remains one of our all-time favorite places in Singapore. The food is always fresh, wholesome, and full of flavor, and the service is consistently warm and attentive. The atmosphere — especially at our favorite outlet in Holland Village — is relaxed, welcoming, and perfect for families and dog-lovers alike. One thing I really appreciate is that they offer gluten-free options. The Simply Scrambled Eggs in the photo I shared is the gluten-free version, and it’s just as tasty as the regular one! Another must-try is the Big Breakfast — it’s generous enough to satisfy two hungry adults. I can only share a small glimpse of the many meals we’ve enjoyed over the years, but we highly recommend Baker & Cook to anyone who loves delicious, healthy food in a friendly, feel-good setting.
