A surprisingly peaceful side of Singapore along the old Bukit Timah Railway Station and Rail Corridor area. The combination of preserved railway tracks, lush greenery, and open walking paths gives the place a nostalgic yet relaxing atmosphere I especially like how the old railway elements - the tracks, signal control room, station signboards, and maintenance trolley - have been carefully preserved. They provide a glimpse into Singapore’s railway history while blending naturally with the surrounding forest and park connector environment
View on GoogleA nice place for walking or cycling, especially if you want a break from the busy city atmosphere of Singapore. The greenery and old colonial railway vibe give the area a unique charm. Great spot for relaxing, taking photos, and enjoying a bit of history and nature together.
View on GoogleNice historical place to visit! Bringing my aged grandparents back to relive memories from their younger days. They used to board trains from Tanjung Pagar Railway Station from 1966 until its closure. I still remember vividly how every train journey from Malaysia to Singapore would pass through this iconic station. As the Malay saying goes, “Tempat jatuh lagi dikenang, inikan pula tempat bermain” ~ if one remembers the place where they once fell, how much more memorable is a place filled with precious moments and memories. Today, we return not just to a station but to a significant chapter of their lives.
View on GoogleNice place in the city for a bit of green space, to enjoy the quiet and walk along the disused railway tracks. There were also a number of cyclists and joggers out enjoying themselves.
View on GoogleA good destination to reach when exploring the railway corridor. The area is neat and not excessively crowded, making it a good place to enjoy peace and nature.
