A nice surprise to chance upon Black Bear BBQ & Smokehouse whilst considering what to have at Greenwood area. Black Bear had taken over the very short-lived Dan’s Steaks outlet which in turn was previously Roots Mediterranean Restaurant. The beef brisket was superb and the way I like it. Well balanced smokey flavor, super tender and juicy. Had more than average amount of fats but I like it that way. The Beef rib was also very good, spot on in terms of flavor, char and juiciness. The Dirty Fries was atypical as the key ingredients were separated and you had to mix it yourself according to your liking which was kinda DIYish fun in that aspect. The Apple pie that was done in a French way was yummy and had 2 generous scoops of Vanilla ice cream, albeit it had a lot more raisins to Apple slices. Feedback to the chef was positively taken and we expect this item to be improved. Decent selection of wine and reasonable prices. 4/5 in my books!

I never tried the black bear, because it’s too many western cuisine surrounded this area. First tried the Prata, I felt it’s delicious, but the curry is not the local style. It’s more sour. Love it very much, we enjoyed the food, price is affordable. Will visit again.

Was recommended to visit this place from a resident. It has collaborated with Super Prata to include some local dishes, and man, it hit the right spot. Firstly, the attentive, friendly staffs were inviting enough that we decided to take a risk. Hey, what could go wrong with such friendly and warm hunks right? Secondly, the atmosphere, environment were great for a couple with good seating, lighting. Finally, the food. We ordered a Greek salad, a super murtabak with beef brisket and 2 calamansi drinks. The drinks were weak, but the murtabak was simply heavenly. Soft, wet mutton in a soft warm bread. Topped with melt in your mouth beef brisket. We were so in loved with the super murtabak with beef brisket, we even considered having seconds! Give this place, and the folks a try. The prices are extremely reasonable in a place like Greenwood. Will certainly be back there to try the rest of the menu.

Brought my family here for dinner and it was a great experience. Food was tasty, well-seasoned and oysters were extremely fresh and well priced. Could tell that the waiters were extremely busy but still provided great service. The waiter gave us some good recommendations. Brisket and chicken wings were definitely the stars of the night 🤌🏻 Complimentary oysters were a nice touch too. Thanks for having us, we will be back.
