Roast chicken rice is very well done, tender and juicy with crispy skin. Came at 12pm, maybe that’s when they fry a fresh batch as the chicken was warm. Old school sauce seasoning, minimal sesame oil and not sweet, taste like chicken essence with five spice. Chicken is massive (photo is of half chicken). Rice is average, less oily but not very fragrant. Chili is punchy and acidic, good! Aunty is friendly, gave us some free roast pork which was decent. Also sell cai fan, we tried three of the veg, all average. Ambience is old school, simple chairs you need to help yourself, warm, bit dirty. Price is very fair, half chicken 16 dollars. Verdict: Order half roast chicken, dress for warm / stuffy ambience. Old school vibes, go support.
View on GoogleOld times favorite and amazed they are still there. This time try out their early morning breakfast. Enjoying the aroma black coffee while waiting for their roast chicken to cool down for chopping to be added to my meal. Lady boss added curry veg to add more fragrance to my noodle.
View on GoogleThis eatery is more like a cai png 菜饭 and zi char 煮炒 than a chicken rice place. They don’t sell white chicken, only roast ones. The chicken rice ($4.50) was edible while the teh ($1.40) was bad.
View on GoogleNot exactly a chicken rice place, but delicious mixed rice. My usual plate includes mapo tofu, brinjal 🍆 eggplants and other veggies. Curry sauce delicious. Prices very affordable. Service is efficient and nice. Place is old and surfaces covered by creases and I sometimes think if it is clean at all. But, I keep returning. Food is so good. I never been sick. And I have peace and quiet there while enjoying my secret place without family coming with me and complaining.
View on GoogleChicken rice ($5.50) did not disappoint. However this is a place where you can add extra side dishes which is fantastic idea. I end up adding bbq pork, 2 vegies and an egg with my chicken and rice - total $8.80. I like it!!
