I visited the restaurant on 8 July during lunch hours. It wasn’t really crowded, however staff was not attentive and hard to get attention to place orders even though I sat facing the counter. The Lovely chicken rice set (excluding drink) was good with the steamed chicken tender and moist, though the price was slightly at a higher side, at $12.80 before any taxes. In my opinion, with this price point there are similar chicken rice restaurants of the same quality. Hygiene wise, there was a housefly hovering at my table, which is quite annoying and affects my appetite. Restaurant needs to review with the building management and pest control team on how to eradicate this issue. Enough said, if you are around the area, you may consider giving a try.
View on GoogleJew Kit Hainanese Chicken Rice @jewkitoffical hits you with that old-school, nostalgic flavour from the first bite. I went for the Lovely Meal ($10.30) — tender, moist chicken paired with rice, kai lan and a comforting bowl of soup that just feels like home. The Hainanese Pork Cutlet ($18.80) was another highlight, crispy on the outside, juicy within, and nicely balanced with its tangy sauce. Don’t skip the Homemade Crispy Prawn Roll ($14.00) — golden, crunchy, and packed with savoury prawn goodness 📍Jew Kit Hainanese Chicken Rice, 170 Upper Bukit Timah Rd, B1-/17/18, Bukit Timah Shopping Centre, Singapore 588179
View on GoogleTucked in a corner of the mall, there wasn’t a big crowd here when I arrived on a weekday lunch time, which was good and comfortable for a meal since it’s air conditioned too. 💵 the price point is definitely steep compared to its competitors in the area, and hence I was expecting quite a bit more in terms of quality 🍗 the chicken, rice and chilli were pretty good, probably made better with the ginger too However, the beancurd and eggs were definitely stale, overnight toughness and might even be for a few days.. Not the best overall because of that, as I would expect at least fresh ingredients for the price point - as the set costs $9.50 after taxes/service charge..
View on GoogleWe visited for lunch on a weekend. The indoor seating was fully packed, so we had to sit outside. We ordered the 2-person set, which came with white chicken, Thai deep fried tofu, soup, and rice. The chicken was succulent, tender, and packed with that classic Hainanese flavor. While the rice was a tad too mushy for my liking, it was still highly fragrant. We also tried the nan ru mixed vegetables, a dish that stays truly faithful to its traditional, home-cooked roots. Overall, an excellent meal and highly recommended!
View on GoogleFood tastes great with an authentic and nostalgic flavour. Chicken rice was fragrant and chicken was tender and tasty. Also ordered the San Lao Hor Fun. This was tasteful with a good touch of wok hey flavour. What a great find! Definitely coming back again and again!
