An eatery of last resort; when everywhere else is full. Food is average. The curry in the curry salmon don tastes like something out of an instant pack - sufficiently tasty yet unspectacular. No recollection on the name of the unremarkable second main course. Fully self-service, which is common in most smaller F&B establishments nowadays. Order + pay + collect at counter. Maybe they have other dishes which are much better. Maybe they survived because of the overwhelming number of diners who have nowhere else to go.
View on GoogleWalked past this place a couple of times been wanting to try but always ended up at the hawker centre above. Finally decided to try and have been a fan of chirashi don wanted to know how is the quality. The portion looks decent and the fish looks fresh and pretty chunky. It was quite enjoyable eating the fish but the rice was a tad too dry. Didn't really like the texture of the rice, and there were too little tamago and cucumber as well. Also ordered the Matcha Waffle and asked them for a recommendation for the ice cream. The girl at the counter recommended Walnut Maple and I decided to go with it. Waited quite a bit for the waffles but it was okay. Heard the temperature turned too high the 1st time it was burnt and they had to redo. The price was reasonable and I wasn't really shocked to see the size of the waffles, it was still acceptable for that price with a scoop of ice cream. The walnut maple was really good and I was impressed, however the waffle didn't actually taste matcha and it was really the soft and spongy kind, don't expect to have crispy sides or edges. It was soft but it didn't really turn soggy for the portion below the ice cream. No frills dining but would have given 1 more star if the rice was better.
View on GoogleCame here on a chance encounter. But was pleasantly surprised by the food. One of the better and cheaper Chirashi Don I have ever eaten. The sashimi were fresh and juicy. The serving was quite decent as well, with a decent amount of fish. Menu wise that's not much to choose from, but that is expected of then because ultimately they specialise in Chirashi Don.
View on GoogleA small donburi cafe in Beauty World Center. Went to try but they ran out of chirashi don so we tried salmon sashimi don and salmon mentai don instead. Both were okay, not exactly value for money given the size. Drink (hokkaido milk bubble tea) was not sweet. Cafe is run by young crews which frankly came across as disorganized and rowdy; tables were not turned around properly for the next customers, lots of slamming/dropping of bowls in the wash area, talking to colleagues while taking orders... not exactly a pleasant experience dining in.
View on GoogleWalk passed this cafe a few times, finally today walk in for a late lunch. We ordered Salmon Mentai Don & Salmon Teriyaki Don. Price a bit pricey as portion is considered small, but taste was good. Might come back again to try Chirashi Don.
