I'm here on a weekday lunch, it is pretty quiet in a good way. Ordered coffee and pastas. The prawn aglio olio was good. It had the right amount of garlic and chilli, but I felt the portion is too little and not full if you don't have sides to share or a cake for dessert. They have a variety of pastries and cakes available and some are ready to-go. I bought home the tiramisu which is good for 2-3 pax serving and they are very generous with the cocoa powder.

After enjoying coffee and cake at one café along the street, we decided to continue our little afternoon café crawl and stopped by Carpenter and Cook. The café has a warm vintage atmosphere filled with old sewing machines, antique clocks, and rustic wooden furniture, giving it a cozy and nostalgic feel. Their pastry counter offers a beautiful selection of tarts, cakes, and freshly baked pastries. We chose the apple pie, which was filled with soft, chunky apples and wrapped in a light buttery crust. It tasted homemade and comforting without being overly sweet. Paired with a simple black coffee and an iced drink, it made for a very relaxing afternoon break. A lovely spot if you enjoy slow café afternoons with good pastries.

Croque madame was good but not mind-blowing. Egg could be more flowy. Iced black was decent too. Overall don’t think the marginally higher ASP (vs comps) was justified. Can try other cafes around here

A big shoutout to the wonderful team at Carpenter & Cook in hosting our son’s 1st birthday party! Shenn was very efficient, helpful, and friendly throughout the planning process. She was accommodative to our requests regarding the menu and seating arrangement. We were also particularly impressed by her creativity in conceptualising and designing a unique prune cake for the party (our son absolutely lovesss prunes)! On the day itself, Shenn’s team gladly helped us with the decorations. They were also attentive and friendly towards our guests from start to end. Food wise, we and our guests were surprised at how generous the portions were (for a tea-time buffet)! Every item on the menu was delectable, and the crowd favourite was definitely the mushroom quiche 😋. The birthday cake itself was nothing short of amazing - beautifully designed and incredibly tasty! We are immensely grateful to Shenn and team for the smooth and fuss-free planning process, and also for making the actual day such an enjoyable and memorable occasion for everybody! Thank you for the 110/100 service 💯💯! We would not hesitate to recommend Carpenter & Cook to anyone who is looking for a cafe and event space.

Tucked away from the city's hustle, it offers a charming and cozy atmosphere filled with character, vintage touches and a relaxed neighborhood feel. The coffee is excellent, and the selection of freshly baked pastries, cakes and brunch items is equally impressive. Everything feels homemade, carefully prepared and served with attention to detail.
