We arrived 5 minutes before the restaurant opened at noon last Tuesday and were the first to be seated. The restaurant does not take reservations. There are 3 booth seats for groups of 3-4 customers, and the rest is seating around the counter. I personally prefer to sit at the counter to observe how the Okonomiyaki are freshly made. Riza was the chef on Tuesday. She was very friendly and made sure that our orders of both Okonomiyaki (tako, crabmeat and shiitake mushroom; and cheese, tobiko and shiitake mushroom) reflected our dietary requirements. The okonomiyaki were filled with generous amounts of cabbage and red ginger. The toppings were less generous but at S$19 and S$19.50 they were as expected. The okonomiyaki was crispy and remained hot on the counter. The okonomiyaki sauce and the mayonnaise were tasty and complemented the cabbage fillings. The Yuzu fizz was refreshing. The restaurant fills up quickly and a little patience is required as the freshly made okonomiyaki can't be rushed. The staff were all very friendly and helpful despite the crowds.
View on GoogleAbsolutely delicious! Ajiya Okonomiyaki Restaurant serves the best okonomiyaki in Singapore in my opinion. The okonomiyaki is freshly prepared, flavourful and cooked perfectly, with generous portions and great ingredients. Cozy atmosphere and friendly service too. Definitely a place we will keep coming back to. Highly recommended!
View on GoogleFirst time here to try okonomiyaki (Japanese pancake)! Nice overall dishes. Very crowded but environment is nice and chill! I enjoyed all the dishes!
View on GoogleInteractive dining experience where you get to cook your own okonomiyaki right at the table. The food tasted good overall and it was quite fun playing around with the cooking process, especially if you’re dining with friends or family. $19++ The garlic fried rice $9++was loosely cooked and tasted decent, though it felt slightly underwhelming as it did not seem freshly prepared on the spot. It appeared to be pre-cooked beforehand and only reheated through stir-frying before serving. Beef tongue $15.9++ was tender, but the sesame sauce did not really complement the dish well and slightly overpowered the natural flavour of the meat. Service manpower was surprisingly huge for such a small shop, with around 10 staff members around during the visit, so service was generally prompt and attentive. Take note that they only seat customers when the full party has arrived, so do plan your timing properly if meeting in groups. Parking may also be slightly inconvenient as there are only a few lots available outside the restaurant.
View on GoogleReally tasty food and a cosy atmosphere. The restaurant is small and comfortable, making it a nice place to dine. The only downside was that the wait for the food was a little longer than expected, but overall it was a good experience.
