Came here to a few times and we like the food. Simple, traditional yet tasty. It doesn’t pretend to be different. Love the fishball noodles, goes well with the otak and fried tau kee. However the highlight is the chendol. Not too sweet and refreshing. The gula melaka is just right and not overbearing. Love the 3 atap chi to top it all up. Price is slightly higher than food court but I guess it’s worth the ambience 😊 The lady at the counter is quite friendly. If you feel like eating pau or snacks, can pack from Tiong Bahru Pau just a few doors away and eat here. There is a sign that states okay to do so 😊 Apparently same owners

Came here for lunch with my colleague and had a pretty pleasant experience overall. I ordered the minced pork noodles (dry), which were quite flavourful and satisfying. Personally, I would have preferred if the mee pok was the thicker type, but that’s just my own preference. The seasoning was well-balanced, and the dish had a good mix of textures. The place itself has a nice, casual vibe — perfect for a simple, hearty meal during lunch. Overall, not a bad experience at all. I’d definitely visit again to try out some of their other dishes.

5 stars go to the kaya butter toast — it was done perfectly by the friendly lady at the counter who wore glasses. The lady who seemed to be the owner was cordial as well. However, the drink techniques need some adjustment. The coffee lacked flavour, and the Milo was too sweet even though it was ordered kosong (no sugar, no milk, no condensed milk). The chicken cutlet had the right crispiness, but it was overly salty, and the salt overpowered the flavour of the meat.

If you're looking to explore beyond the usual spots around Tiong Bahru Food Centre, head to Sam Yat Coffee — a charming neo-old-school café serving traditional coffee and toasts with clean and neat environment and furniture. I had the Minced Meat Dry Noodles —flavorful, well-balanced, and with generous toppings and garnishes. The Ngoh Hiang (fried five-spice roll) was equally delicious and a steal at just SGD1.00.

What a great find for Sunday lunch with a toddler! It was not crowded which made the dining experience comfortable. The laksa and soupy minced meat noodles were delicious, and the teh peng siu dai is one of the better ones I've tried. The best part is the excellent service rendered by the lady who took our order. She was accommodating and proactive in enhancing our meal time with our toddler. We would love to return for the Kaya toast and cendol!
