Their pork chop is tasty, and while not the crispy variety, has a nice batter and decent thickness. The cabbage and braised egg are pretty good too, but the standout is the curry that adds a nice spice and flavour to the entire dish. Double pork chop, braised egg, cabbage and rice was $7.80. Overall a great value for the portion size and taste. It is quite popular so there’s almost always a long queue. Waited around 15 minutes, but the queue can get as long as 45 minutes during peak periods so do take note!
View on GoogleOne of my favourite Hainanese Curry Rice. It used to be at the corner coffeeshop in Seng Poh Road, but they moved here a few years ago. One of the best braised pork (Kong Bak). Great cabbage. Tasty curry. The Sea Prawns are also huge and tasty. Also highly recommended is the Sotong. Everything looks sloppy. But thats they way Hainanese Curry Rice should be served.
View on GoogleOverall rating is 8/10. One of the famous curry rice in Singapore. They have quite a wide range of dishes. The curry and braised pork gravy quite well balanced savory taste. The white cabbage dish also quite nice. Please be prepared to wait for 20-30 mins during lunch time …
View on GoogleThere is almost always a long queue at this place, which shows how popular it is. Taste wise, I would say it’s alright. The curry is quite flavourful, and it goes well with the rice and various dishes. However, the food is quite heavy, since everything is drenched in curry. While the first few bites are enjoyable, it can start to feel very heavy towards the end of the meal. Personally, this is the kind of place I would eat maybe once a month, rather than something I would crave often. Overall, I think it’s still decent in terms of taste, just be prepared for a rich and heavy meal.
View on GoogleUnpopular comments but I wouldn't call this Hainanese Curry Rice. It's just a normal plate of expensive mixed vegetable rice (caipen) with curry. My plate cost $7, considered expensive in a hawker. Although the queue move quite fast but still not worth the time and money. Both the curry and braised gravy are kind of diluted. Not flavourful, not fragrant. Nothing special. Pork chop was soso. Only the fatty part of the braised pork was tender but the other area was actually quite tough (siap). Cabbage on the saltier side.
