Absolutely delightful experience in Himawari Japanese Restaurant! Sashimi is real good. The restaurant is full in the dinner time and business is very good. I would recommend to book early to avoid disappointment. The selection within the ala carte buffet was extensive. It has your typical Japanese dishes from sashimi to sushi, tempura, shishamo and wagyu beef. Quality of the sashimi cuts were better than some of the popular Japanese restaurants in Singapore. Service staffs were friendly and always there to assist you even during busy hours. We love the tempura and hand roll too. Food was serve fast & service was excellent. Highly recommended for wagyu beef and sashimi! 💞⛩️
View on GoogleI watched a video on YouTube hosted by Mr Mike Chan, who mentioned that the Japanese buffet at this restaurant offers exceptional quality. I went there with my wife, and it turned out to be one of the best Japanese buffets we've experienced. My wife rated their food 8.5 out of 10. Their sashimi was freshly prepared, and the cooked dishes were truly delicious. The staff at the restaurant were friendly and helpful, making our experience even more enjoyable.
View on GoogleSeeking to treat my companion, Kitty, to a memorable Valentine's Day dinner, I chose Himawari, a Japanese restaurant previously recommended to me by my motorcycling associates. To make the evening even more special, as Kitty and I first connected through cycling, we undertook a rather ambitious cycle from Punggol to reach the Alexandra Road location. Initially drawn in by the appeal of the weekend dinner buffet, a careful perusal of the menu with Kitty revealed that the buffet options did not entirely align with her preferences. While the S$60 buffet is reasonably priced in principle, it became apparent that an a la carte selection, focusing on higher quality ingredients such as salmon belly and snow crab, would have been more judicious for our appetites. The buffet predominantly featured rice based dishes, assorted sushi rolls, and, unfortunately, many flour based items, which can be quite filling. A highball was also ordered, though the absence of a plum infused variant, a lemon highball being the sole option, was a minor disappointment. On a more positive note, the restaurant boasted a welcoming and intimate atmosphere, complemented by attentive and helpful service from the staff. Conversely, the grilled fish head we sampled was regrettably overcooked, imparting an unpleasant burnt aroma. However, the sashimi and sushi were commendable for their generous, thick slices. Potential diners should also be aware that beverages are not encompassed within the buffet price, constituting a supplementary expense. After our meal, Kitty and I agreed that in the future, we'd opt for the a la carte menu to better enjoy their more premium offerings.
View on Googleone of best family friendly japanese izakaya buffets... the sashimi is thick cut and great, shabu shabu is generous with vegetables and beef cuts. great service that can handle the orders pressure and constantly top up the green teas. 10/10 would go back for its great variety and quality.
View on GoogleThe buffet is actually SO good and so worth for the price. It’s alacarte and amazing most of the items are actually pretty solid. Loved the steak, tamago, fat slices of sashimi. Barely had space for the hotpot. The cooked salmon was rly good too although a tad salty. Service is great too!!
