Had the mee siam, eggs and toast, chee cheong fun, chwee kueh. Food is served quickly, generally tastes okay, staff is friendly. Mee siam could be better flavored but I think it's because of it being a hospital eatery so may have less sugar, oil, etc in the prep. ... maybe it's just me, I like everything full flavored. Otherwise, I'm okay with it. Will eat here again.
View on GoogleTried their Singapore laksa n mee rebus, and my 1st thought, they don't know how to make them at all. Sugar must be cheap and they make them so sweet. Will not eat there again. Horrible!
View on GoogleOrdered chicken rendang rice, came with frozen chicken, so I went to counter, unwillingly he aaid change a new one. I waited for more than 30 minutes, went back to ask. Then he informed the girl to prepare for me! Next i ordered chee cheong fan and indicated clearly no chilli (as i am allergic to it). He gave me a plate of chee cheong fan (look at photo) whereby they forgot n scrap away the chilli. I informed them I am allergic to chilli, please give me another one, they refused! I believed the staff’s objective is to chase away customers and they can shake legs and get same salary. Company collapse they just change to another joint. Management sleeping?
View on GoogleIs quite okay, the noodles had a lot of clumpy bits stuck together. Lots of people were having the thai iced milk tea, which is quite nice, less sweet that other places, as i suppose it is a hospital setting. There are seats behind the stall which not many people realise. Meatballs are pretty decent, chicken was tender but found it too sweet.
View on GoogleFirst time trying coffee at Kaffe & Toast. I was quite excited to try this popular local coffee joint since I usually go for more "atas" coffee (aka Arabica beans) at renown cafes. I like the occasional Kopi C, if I'm unable to get a good cuppa Arabica beans, but I definitely like it sweetened, because Robusta beans are usually bitter and over roast. Anyhow, this being my first try of Kaffe & Toast, I really wanted to enjoy my Kopi C. Unfortunately, while the concoction was thick, the first mouthful was bitter, then left a sour aftertaste on my palate. I was quite surprised when the staff asked me, "with sugar?" before payment. No one bothered to ask me before, and my kopi C has always been served with evaporated milk and sugar. This is also why I love my arabica cuppa, because I drink it sugarless and sometimes, certain brews even leave a slightly sweet aftertaste. My Kopi C didn't taste sweetened at all and it really bothered me that my entire mouth felt bitter sour after each sip. Considering this cuppa cost me 2 bucks, about 70 cts more expensive than most coffee shops, it was quite disappointing.
