This coffee shop in the hospital’s main lobby is a true comfort spot. They serve a wide variety of local favorites: kopi, teh, toasts, hearty meals along with healthier options, all at very reasonable prices. Special shout-out to Manager Selvam for his personalized service. He makes everything efficient, smooth, and genuinely pleasant. In a hospital setting, that kind of warmth makes all the difference. Highly recommended.
View on Googlevery crowded and packed during lunch hours. noisy and distracting. we ordered laksa and mee rebus. Staff did our laksa order wrongly by switching laksa noodles with bee hoon. Then when the error was pointed out, the lady tried to gaslight us by saying that bee hoon is laksa noodles. We requested a change as we can clearly see laksa noodles stacked up in containers at the kitchen. Only then they gave in and change after the order.
View on GooglePoor service and lack of food hygiene in giving not totally cooked and poorly cooked food. Had to wait quite a while for food when the place is not even full. Run out of dine in utensil and had to use wooden chopsticks. Had to ask for money back and the cashier handed over the money in a very reluctant manner. Horrible attitude. Never even apologized for the poorly cooked food. Never eat here again.
View on GoogleA Watery Lesson in Overpriced Mee Rebus Let me put this on the record, because experiences like this shouldn’t be quietly swallowed along with a disappointing bowl of noodles. I ordered what the stall inside Block 4 of the Singapore General Hospital, proudly calls its “Original Mee Rebus.” That alone raised an eyebrow. Original? As opposed to what, unoriginal Mee Rebus? Mee Rebus Lite? When a stall has to market a classic hawker dish as “original,” the alarm bells should already be ringing. Still, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Big mistake. For $5.30, what I received was a bowl that can only be described as a masterclass in minimalism: – one lonely egg, – a few token pieces of taopok, – and gravy so thin it could pass immigration as soup. Mee Rebus gravy is supposed to coat the noodles, not beg for viscosity. This one was so watery I half-expected the noodles to float away. The price is the real kicker. Let’s break it down. Ingredients for a bowl like this probably cost between $1.10 and $1.30. Even after rent and manpower, the margins are very comfortable. And here’s the uncomfortable thought: as members of the public, we may very well be subsidising the discounts they give to hospital staff. Admirable intention, wrong execution. Don’t make the rest of us pay premium prices for sub-premium food. To be fair, I should’ve known better. The reviews gave the stall barely 2 out of 5. But curiosity, and hunger, won. This time, both lost. In my view, this is a rip-off disguised as hawker fare. Singaporeans don’t mind paying for quality. What we mind is paying $5.30 for Mee Rebus that tastes like it was prepared by someone who has never eaten Mee Rebus. Consider this a small warning flare for anyone planning to eat there. You deserve better, and so do your noodles. With so much complaints on Google reviews - why isn’t the Singapore General Hospital doing anything?
View on GoogleStaff not friendly, not worth the value, asked for more onion and was rejected. Quoting they already put inside the bowl. Cant see any vege even in hospital compound to eat healthy. Drink was too sweet. Was there 1.45pm and ordered dried fishball noodles and a glass of their new lemongrass drink.
