It was truly disappointing to dine at what used to be one of my favorite Bak Kut Teh places for decades. I was attending an AI convention nearby and looked forward to enjoying their signature soup again, but the experience was far from what I remembered. We ordered 2 specials and 1 normal, but when the food arrived, all three bowls looked identical. Even the lady owner came over and questioned the waitress, raising the same concern as us. To be sure, we ordered an additional special, but it turned out exactly the same again. At the cashier, I was shocked to see that all 4 bowls were charged as “special.” After clarification, the waitress adjusted the bill to 3 specials and 1 normal. While they corrected it, this confirmed that our orders had not been served properly in the first place. For a long-standing household brand in Singapore, this lack of attention and respect for customers is very disappointing. The food no longer stands out, and the service left a poor impression. If you do decide to dine here, check your orders carefully. (Images of bowls and receipts attached.)
View on GoogleA legendary spot for authentic Teochew Bak Kut Teh! The soup is punchy, clear, and has that perfect peppery kick that clears your sinuses. The pork ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender. I love that they offer unlimited soup refills
View on GoogleAsked for the 肉骨湯 and got rung up for the 排骨湯, which I didn't notice until I had paid and sat down. Also a bit pricey compared to eating elsewhere at ~11 SGD for just the soup. Meat was tender! Broth was peppery and light, but good. It wasn't as incredible as I expected from the raving reviews here though. Overall, for it being out of the way and a bit pricey, I would not include it for a Singapore bucket list. You can probably find it at a hawker center somewhere for much cheaper.
View on GoogleBat Kut Teh offers a delightful dining experience with some standout dishes that make it worth a visit, though the price might give you pause. The soup is a highlight, bursting with rich, aromatic flavors that showcase the care put into its preparation. The pork rib is impressively tender, practically melting in your mouth, striking a perfect balance of texture and taste. The you tiao (fried dough sticks) is perfectly toasted, adding a satisfying crunch that complements the soup beautifully. The pork trotter is another winner—soft, succulent, and well-balanced, avoiding being overly lean or fatty, which makes it a crowd-pleaser. However, the price feels a bit steep for the portion sizes, which might leave budget-conscious diners hesitant. Overall, Bat Kut Teh delivers on flavor and quality, making it a great spot for a comforting meal if you’re willing to splurge a little.
View on Googlethe service was.. meh. told them that we wanted mineced garlic several times and told several people, took 3 people and 3 reminders to get one small saucer of minced garlic. only good thing is their peppery soup and they'd refill IF they see your bowl is dry. i ordered the fatty one and it was fatty. overall it was okok, nothing special to travel all the way to if youre far, if youre closeby then sure, their seafood ball was good too.
