Had a satisfying meal at Lok Fu Lala Pot. The clams were fresh, with that natural umami sweetness coming through in every bite. The broth was rich and flavourful. Despite the place being quite crowded, the staff were attentive and proactive, refilling the soup without us even needing to ask. Definitely a spot worth going back to if you enjoy fresh seafood and a good, hearty soup.
View on GoogleIt is quieter than their Geylang outlet, which was a nice change of pace, but I think the low footfall affected the food. We had the specialty lala broth with a few sides, but the ingredients just didn't taste very fresh. The prawn paste in particular felt like it had been sitting in the fridge for way too long. Since it’s an open-concept space and wasn't very crowded, we also spent a lot of time swatting flies away from our raw food, which was a bit of a hassle. The saving grace was definitely the staff. They were incredibly attentive and kept our soup topped up throughout the meal. Great service for sure, but I’d be wary of the freshness during the quieter hours.
View on GoogleAs you approach the shop, the smell of charcoal welcomes you and together with the surrounding, it brings one back to the 90s. The staff is extremely smiley and helpful. For the soup pot size, go for the large size! The super thick collagen broth for the first round is beyond words . The soup refill is unlimited but thickness of the broth is not as thick asbthe first pot. But still, can feel the essence of the broth. Will definitely come back for the fried fish!
View on GoogleHad a fantastic hotpot dinner at Lok Fu Restaurant on a Saturday evening. The highlight was their "he lala" (clam) hotpot—a delicious and aromatic soup base that was flavorful without being overpowering. We ordered the fish slices, golden beef, golden pork, and a variety of vegetables. All the ingredients were noticeably fresh, and the golden beef and pork were especially tender and rich—definitely a must-try. What made the experience truly stand out was the excellent service from staff member Ah Wai. He was attentive throughout our meal, regularly checking in and topping up our soup to keep the pot perfectly balanced. His friendly and proactive service added a warm, welcoming touch to the dinner. Overall, great value for money with fresh ingredients, tasty soup, and exceptional service. Highly recommended for a satisfying hotpot meal!
View on GoogleThe la la soup is very flavourful, very nice. Other delicious selections: prawn ball with salted egg inside, seafood ball, beancurd skin, and fried prawns with sweet sauce. They also regularly top up your soup, very good service. Overall happy customer.
