Recommend if you curious and just want to try once what traditional Korean rice cakes taste like. Not recommended for consistent tteok cravings…ㅠ I went around 2pm on a Sunday, and most were sold out. I didn’t get my favourite red bean one..ㅠ The rice cake is very genuine and delicious. However, it’s like same price but only for half of the portion sold back in Korea. I was a little surprised at how small the box of tteok was. I bought many varieties and yellow reddish pickle too for nostalgia. The pickle had a homemade feel which is really nice. But it’s also quite expensive given the size of it.
View on GoogleTheir Japchae is sooo gooodd!! Most of their fresh rice cake best to consume once bought, i brought it home around nighttime and the consistency of the flour became a little bit hard. their rice cakes taste a bit on the savoury side, a bit sesame oil and peanutty taste. their walnut candy is so nice too!! not too sticky or too sweet! Their yagwa not really something i'd buy again but i'd go for the walnut tho! a bit on the pricy side but its pretty authentic! dont mind going over again next time!
View on GoogleLocated below HDB block at Everton Road, this korean shop sells authentic korean snacks and food i.e. think various forms of rice cakes, egg rolls, japchae. When we arrived at 11am, the egg rolls were still warm i. their takeaway boxes! The sesame oil aroma of the place just completes the Korean food outlet vibe!
View on GoogleLove love love the rice cakes that I bought to try (yeongyang chal Tteok and mujiggae tteok), can definitely taste the cinnamon flavor in the mujiggae tteok but the mugwort’s flavor didn’t come through much, could be stronger. The radish kimchi was yummy too! Just a little expensive overall 🥹 Would come back for both the tteok! My fav type of tteoks so far!
View on Googlehidden gem at everton park selling freshly-made korean snacks! we got a box of rice cakes, with flavours consisting of cherry, original, and mugwort. the rice cakes had a chewy texture and were both mildly sweet and savoury. an enjoyable treat and will be back again to try the other snacks :)
