Visited for the Kotowa Carolina Gesha from Panama (Natural, S$16) — a premium bean I was genuinely excited about. The café is a lovely, focused space — no food, just coffee. The barista was warm, knowledgeable, and voluntarily walked me through every brew parameter unprompted. That kind of transparency is rare and appreciated. Hardware is also excellent — Ditting flat-burr grinder and an OREA V4 flat-bottom brewer, both well-suited for specialty filter. The cup opened beautifully — bright peach and clean white florals tracking well through the hot and mid-cool phases. The Gesha genetics were clearly present. However, the house recipe runs at a 1:13.3 ratio, and I felt this was too concentrated for a Natural Gesha at this price point. As the cup cooled, a polyphenolic bitterness emerged that suppressed the sweetness and softened the tea-like finish that defines a great Gesha. In my experience, this varietal expresses best at 1:15–1:17, where the sucrose clarity and floral lift have genuine room to breathe. The café and barista are doing a lot right — and I'd genuinely encourage them to consider a more relaxed brew ratio for their premium Gesha offerings. That one adjustment could make this a standout experience. Would return to give it another chance.

My regular coffee hangout near work. Consistent, Good and Clean coffee. Variety of beans (processing, variety and origins) to choose for both filter and expresso based coffees. Bean selections do change over time. They have unique coffee-based drinks, some seasonal. They also sell roasted beans and drip bags. Amazing quality of beans and consistency in roast. Even though I do tend to have a few bags of beans opened for more than 2 months, I could still extract the notes I want when brewing at home. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Nice vibes for lunch time break.

Another great coffee find! Tried the Columbia/Los Nogales beans this time around, and it was as fragrant as we envision it to be 🤤 The cafe was rather cosy with bench seats for the most part, but the location helped with the crowd a little since it’s mostly packed but not overcrowded. The staff were very friendly too, greeted us upon entry and recommended us to the beans and variety of coffee they serve, definitely helpful for first timers like us - and will be returning customers too!

Coffee-lover approved! I’ve tried countless coffees and developed a very particular, acquired palate that’s quite hard to impress when it comes to coffee, but Double Shot stood out with their consistency. Excellent artisanal coffee in a cozy, welcoming space. Prices aren’t excessively marked up too. Keep it up—you’re doing great!

Panama Geisha with top notes and aroma of jasmine (think green tea) Middle notes of peach/apricot-ish and a black tea-like finish. Tip: if you see “tea like finish” in coffee, then you should expect some level of astringency or “siap siap” as you would when you drink Lipton tea teh-o. If you’re not a fan, then avoid this profile. Geisha beans are premium but I still can’t really appreciate. In general they are too balanced, nothing stands out. But that’s just me. Nonetheless great place to lepak on a hot day after some bed workout.
