What a nice little find! Just off the road by Redhill MRT, inside the community center area, a chill little cafe. It wasn’t very busy, but there was still an energy and peace to the place. I tried the kaya butter set. The bread was nice and the eggs were perfectly cooked; the toast was a bit sweet for me with all of the kaya, but it was an enjoyable breakfast and good value for kaya toast in an indoor cafe. The coffee had rich flavor, too. As I was sitting there, others sat nearby and had the mee siam and bee hoon, which looked great and will be something I try next time I visit. I recommend checking it out if you’re nearby and not sure where to go for brunch.

The cosy ambience of the Living Room Eating House caught our attention and drew us in. We ordered two sets of nasi lemak with chicken wings, accompanied by barley drinks. This café has a self-service concept, where orders are placed at the counter, food is collected using a buzzer, and trays are returned by customers. Condiments are also available at the counter for self-service. Unfortunately, the nasi lemak was served only lukewarm, so the coconut rice lacked the fragrant aroma and flavour I was hoping for. The chicken wings also seemed to be overly fried. A pleasant ambience, but hopefully the food can be served warmer and the chicken wings fried to a better texture.

Had the prawn mee with pork ribs. Managed to get a table before the lunch crowd came in. It gets really packed after 12pm. The food was just ok, nothing particularly special.

Disappointment after all the good reviews. Drinks (had a yuan yang) and prawn mee were lacklustre. Definitely can get better food and drinks for the price. Not worth travelling to. Appreciate that the prawns were peeled though and the generous amount of beansprouts. Eatery is also loud even when not fully packed, we sat in a nook around the corner to avoid the noise.

Clean, spacious, air conditioned cafe serving local food. I got the prawn mee and was surprised by the presentation of peeled prawn and fish cake. The soup Base is not too bad. Tea and coffee are of good standard. The environment is great, generally suitable for gatherings or quick coffee or tea, meals and everything in between. I like some of the poster and art work too.
