The market and food centre is named after the Archipelago Brewery Company, one of Singapore's oldest breweries (the ABC part), and the brick making factories, which once operated in the area. The market and food centre was established in the 1970s to centralise street hawkers and to provide affordable meals to the residents and workers in the now bustling and rapidly industrialising Bukit Merah and Queenstown estates. Over the years, it has grown from a humble neighbourhood spot into a culinary hub famous for its heritage operators and recipes passed down through generations. Today, it boasts two Michelin Bib Gourmand stalls serving Chinese cuisine : - Ah Er Soup - Jason Penang Cuisine There was a fried Hokkien mee stall which once was also of Bib Gourmand status, but is now closed when its hawker retired. There is also a bak chor mee stall holding a Michelin Selected status. Usually it is very crowded on weekdays. We were there on a weekend, and it is easier to get a table. Quite a number of stalls were closed but there are still many highly recommended stalls open. Date of visit : June 2026

View on GoogleThis food market offers a good variety of dishes, and several stalls are worth trying. The steam fish was especially fresh and flavorful. The BBQ pork rice came with tender, well-cooked meat that made the dish satisfying. The wan ton mee was not bad overall, though the wan ton itself can be skipped—especially since the dumplings were sold out during my visit. There’s also a freshly baked bread stall that serves a lovely muffin, definitely a nice treat to end the meal. Overall, a pleasant stop with a few standout items worth returning for.
View on GoogleNewly opened small black hainanese chicken rice (小黑海南雞飯)stall 01-135 . Excellent hainanese chicken rice👍 whether it's white or roaster chicken or roast meat or charsiew 👍, reasonably priced, friendly. Give a try if you have crave for hainanese chicken rice! Won't disappoint! Friendly
View on GoogleCame here for the 505 White Carrot Cake. Personally not a big cai tao kway eater but so far this particular stall has been delivering great taste and flavor! Introduced by my partner who is a huge fan. It's pretty much the only white carrot cake I eat tbh. Followed them from jurong west till here hahaha. After moving to this new loc, seems like it got crispier (as it should!! I do love that) and their chilli had an upgrade 😋 Priced at $4/5/6 as of today, it's definitely value for money.
