Previously Soul Alife, relocated and known as The Plant Food. Fully vegan cafe with a mostly allium-free menu; clearly labelled. They serve colourful, healthy, and tasty dishes with some Japanese and Korean influence! Very generous servings and nutritionally balanced. Most of them are whole-food plant-based, with delicious items and sauces etc made from scratch with love, such as housemade tofu “egg” benedict and chickpea “tuna” toasts, both of which I would highly recommend! Some dishes do feature quality local brands of plant-based substitutes, such as OnlyEg, &SO, and organic chickpea Angie’s Tempeh. They’re currently serving Chinese New Year specials - Enoki Seaweed Udon Soup with Yam (inspired by Teochew fish soup), Golden Pumpkin Udon Soup with Gyoza, and Bak Kwa Fried Rice with Tamago, all of which are super flavourful! Apart from mains, they serve desserts like tiramisu (and tea-ramisu), muffins, and loaf cakes, made using ingredients such as oats and tofu as well as naturally sweetened with dates; gluten-free, oil-free, and refined sugar-free. The wide range of Oatside oat mylk lattes are also very good, including unique flavours like shiso, oolong, Thai red milk lattes. My top favourite vegan eatery in Singapore as the food is so beautiful, filling, and wholesome~ You can tell the young lady boss is genuinely kind and passionate about serving great vegan food, plus catering to the allium-free crowd. Outdoor seats are pet-friendly too. Conveniently located near Upper Thomson MRT Exit 3. (You can visit Macritchie Reservoir in the same day, walking distance away~)

Read about the Buddha Bowls from Google reviews and decided to check it out. We were not disappointed! Nice portions for each bowl. The Garlic Hummus Buddha Bowl has a strong garlic spicy bite to it, good for those who love garlic. I prefer the Soul's Buddha Bowl for its lovely beetroot mushroom hummus topping (the purple coloured one in the photos). The apple beetroot salad was decent.

Food-wise: Food is great! We had kimchi fried rice, mushroom head bowl, tofu cheesecake and the truffle dumplings. The mushroom head bowl was filled with such yummy and nutritious ingredients, I really enjoyed it! I was also really amazed at how delicious the tofu cheesecake was. The kimchi fried rice was 👍👍 too. Would recommend this place for both vegans and non-vegans :) Service-wise: Service was fine. We did see a potential customer expressing interest in some dishes but he was told that those dishes were out of stock and the customer left eventually. Perhaps it might have been helpful to suggest some other similar dishes that he might be interested in?

Excellent vegan food. First of all, I love the drinks - the chai latte tasted authentic, and the hot chocolate oat milk was comforting for a rainy day. We loved the Thai Red Curry rice - absolutely delectable - and the Soul's Buddha Bowl was like, what others had reported here, filling. Mala siew mai was interesting, but I would skip the sweet soy lotus root next round; I prefer it to be crunchier and come as raw as possible. The tofu cheesecake is a must-try. We weren't that big on the vegan tiramisu. Overall, an awesome experience.

Very tasty Bibimbap and Buddha Bowl! Bibimbap is more flavorful and I like the spice and sweetness of it! Would be better if the quinoa is warmer~ The Buddha bowl with the reddish hummus taste good too. Slightly less flavorful compared to bibimbap but still nice! The portion is very generous for one. I can have it for two meals! Topped the Buddha bowl with a side dish - the sweet soy lotus root which tastes like teriyaki sauce - wonderful combination! 🤩 Seats are not as comfy I find. Only one staff around so have to wait slightly longer for the dish to be served if there are many customers. It’s convenient to order as all order are by QR code. Anyway, the food is worth the wait! 🥰
