By far, one of the best Japanese tapas bar in Singapore. They serve foodswith fresh ingredients. They may look simple on the outside and also seems to have a quite small place but their service and food makes you feel homey. The chef and the staff are all very welcoming and accommodating. They have everyday promotions which is so worth it to go since the foods are just so nice. They serve fresh salmon sashimi with the right amount of fattiness. Even their 1 for 1 promo for this wouldn't make you go wrong. Would always go back for this. Sometimes, they would also have fresh batch of live oysters! At times, we would try their new items in the menu like the braised pork and colorful noodles right there, forgot the name. HAHA. All of their food would surprise us for its goodness. Their beer tower is also very cheap as compared to other bars. Plus points for that. ✌️

18 Dec Value for money. Decor has a nice old school Izakaya feel to it. A bit cramped but ok. Happy hour prices aren’t bad and esp on a Saturday is nice. $5.80 glass of wine. Pork Kimchi wasn’t bad. Had a nice teishoku taste to it. A tad bit sweet but nice. Tuna avocado salad was nice. A bit sweet and MSG flavored on the dressing but nice. Tuna and avocado tasted fresh. Tempura sampler was soso to be honest but good for the price. The oil felt a bit old. And the sauce a bit sweet also. Sushi roll could be a bit better. Sushi rice didn’t have a vinegar taste and was too moist but for value is ok. If u want a taste of sushi it’s ok. Bitter gourd pork egg thing was nice also. Garlic rice was nice. Must mix mix mix. Got ePay. Went at 8pm on a Saturday, by 8:30 place was pretty empty. Would go again.

This small little joint came as a pleasant surprise. We did an impromptu walk-in on a Saturday afternoon. We were greeted warmly and the service was very good. We were recommended the catch of the day and opted for the Isaki. Half sashimi and half grilled. The remainder of the fish was battered and deep fried into crispy goodness. The sashimi was fresh and succulent while the grilled meat was fragrant and sweet. Overall the food is good. The dried stingray was a surprise as it was one of the better ones I have had. Was hoping the pufferfish come as fried meaty chunks instead of jerkies. The place was cosy and nice to just relax & snack. Overall portions are on the smaller side but prices are not too expensive if you don't go for the catch of the day. Parking is cheap and should be relatively easy to find.

Cozy, small restaurant local along the stretch facing the taxi stand. Very fresh and ice cold beer at promo price. The sake variety is rather impressive for a small setup. The Chirashi Don was decent too. However service was a little slow although have to say they are trying their best for a full house crowd on a Sunday.

For those wanting to experience the vibe of a typical back alley Japanese diner, you are in for a treat. Ikura offers a comprehensive menu encompassing from shashimi to donburi to the usual array of fried food items as well as a commendable sake menu. My family has tried the recommended tonkotsu ramen and tonkotsu Don paired with a platter of tempura moriwase. Overall, good variety and taste was good. Limited seating of up to 36pax in this diner, so expect to wait on holidays and weekends. 😏
