Wow found my all time favorite taste of wanton noodle. Similar to the one at Dunman food centre located at 2nd floor. The chilli was a killer. It nailed the whole experience. Soft and slurppy noodle and blend well with the delicious char siew. Vegetables was generous and fresh too. Great food. You get a small bowl at $4.80.
View on GoogleSaw this new stall open inside Thomson Plaza, so decided to try this branch. The noodle has a nice taste of lard and u can add the lard on your own at the self service area. The ngo hiang can skip. Will try the curry rice next time.
View on GoogleThis shop comprised of 2 stalls. One stall is selling Eng's Wanton Mee while the other is selling Old Hainanese Curry Rice. I ordered the Wanton Mee and the Gor Hiong. I like the Wanton Mee, very tasty. The chili sauce is very potent to do not add too much at first. Just a few drops to test the heat before adding more if necessary. The Gor Hiong is not something to shout about, quite plain. They do not have the usual black sweet sauce to go with Gor Hiong. Instead, they have mayonnaise. Overall, not bad. Will come back to try the curry rice next time. Edit: Went back to try their curry rice. I had the chicken curry. The chicken that they served was a large sized drum stick. Overall quite tasty.
View on GoogleThis outlet is definately not as good as the original outlet in tanjong katong. I ordered the usual wanton noodles and I think it was okay. The key to their popularity is their chilli. So it didn't go very wrong but the place just doesn't feel as comfortable and nostalgia.
View on GoogleOne of many branches offering Eng’s Wantan Mee as well as Curry Rice. Seems to be a reasonably popular place and the draw is probably the very spicy Wantan Mee with savoury sauce. Do a search on the Internet and there’s lots of history to this particular version of the dish and you’ll really need to try to judge for yourself if you like it or not.
