My late hubby’s go-to place for comfort food and cakes. He would get the Swiss Rolls during my pregnancy; then we wld take our little boy for their lasagne who loved it. My late hubby loved the durian puffs; those were the last of the pastries he bought before he went to heaven; puffs I kept frozen as a remembrance of his love till now…But today, I was there to try their Carbonara. I thought it would be cooked with a creamy sauce but it didn’t. No doubt the mushroom slices and bacon slices were quite visible, but it was a disappointment. This could be passed off as an aglio olio. The lady boss has probably retired as now the current service crew don’t quite serve with a heart anymore. If ever I were to dine there, it would probably be one of those times I would be missing the times I have had with my late hubby. Other than that, that spark or the taste is different now.
View on GoogleTried this place for the first time — ordering was really convenient as you can do it via QR code, at the counter, or through a touchscreen machine. I chose to order and pay online, which was quick and hassle-free. What I ordered: 7-layer colourful sponge cake — $5.00 Soft chocolate sponge cake (royal chocolate coating) — $4.50 Iced peach tea — $3.50 Hot lemon tea — $3.50 Total: $16.50 (prices are inclusive of GST, which was a nice surprise) The place has a nostalgic vibe that feels quite comforting. The cakes are light and not overly sweet, which I really appreciate. I had the chocolate cake — not too “gelat,” making it easy to finish. Overall, a simple and pleasant experience. Would come back again for a light dessert break.
View on GoogleI have never seen a more interesting menu. Super honest. 5 star just for that. I went in just for a break. Yes, boss buy really good taprica cake. Their durian cake also not bad. The lemon tea really house make... really no sugar and can really taste the lemon. Ordering is online and can pay online. Place not really pretty but ok lah.
View on GoogleOur fav place to have delicious local delights like fried beehoon, nasi lemak, longtong, fried chicken wing etc. Dino's is also known for their cakes and pastries. Recently the eatery added a self-ordering machine and app. Helps a lot if you like to remove/add certain ingredients or opt for less oil or salt. Parking can be a challenge but it is conveniently located at the exit of Upper Thomson MRT. Always back for more!
View on GoogleI had a wonderful experience at Dino Cake House & Café at Thomson Road! We ordered the fried bee hoon, mee siam, and chicken puff, and everything was delicious and up to our expectations. The fried bee hoon, especially, had a unique and very tasty flavour that I’ve never found elsewhere — I even packed an extra packet to satisfy my cravings! The lady boss, Ying Hui, is very friendly and welcoming, which made the visit even more enjoyable. I also love the wide variety of pastries available in the shop, from whole cakes to cupcakes. I’ll definitely be returning, especially when it’s time to get my birthday cake! Highly recommended! 🍰✨
