We tried the Wanzhou Old School Grilled fish and the Grandma braised meat. Both dishes super wonderful. Really nice. For the grilled fish, they pour a small glass of liquor to it and the light it up for the extra flavor. The chili that goes with the braised meat was nicely blended and really help to complement the meat and bring out the flavor without overpowering it. Nicely done!
View on GoogleNice and tasty food. If you love spicy, come here!! Fish is so fresh that it went so well with the rice. Though the quality of rice can be improved. I called before hand to book a table and the waitress was very nice to assist a last minute booking. The Lala was not great a rather expensive so can skip. Vegetable wasn’t nice too. As we order whole fish, sweet sour pork (super nice) and a few other dishes, we could not try the skewers. Will be back to try them.
View on GoogleHad always ordered delivery by Deliveroo from this restaurant since it's opening. Delivered food was always piping hot & fresh (disclaimer: we're only 5mins away from restaurant). If Chinese is not your language, fret not as the restaurant manger is effectively bilingual! That's a big bonus! The taste of food is NEVER consistent though eg. the cumin mutton, spicy la la & mouth watering chicken tastes different every order, sometimes average, sometimes good. But the vegetable dishes (brocolli, dou miao, cabbage, mixed veg) were consistently delicious. The black wood ear fungus full in garlic flavour & the hot & sour stir-fried shredded potato are my favourites & goes perfectly well with rice. Personally, I felt the signature grilled fish was over grilled, a bit too dry & hard. Have tried 5 out of 7 available broth flavours: Spicy Numbing - very oily, medium was not spicy enough Hot & Sour, Fresh Chillies - not too oily, not sufficiently sour & medium was not hot nor spicy enough Pickled Cabbage - non-spicy, not sour Mushroom Herbs - non-spicy, full in mushroom flavour Only disappointment is that the menu's variety is constantly shrinking as they have been removing items so one tends to get bored with the menu after 1 or 2 orders. Was also impressed with the excellent customer service! Recently, had a dish missing & they sent it over with Grab Express so that it can be tracked too! Thank you!!!
View on GoogleOrdered the grilled fish but realised that the fish way fry for a period of time as some parts of the fish were tough and dry. Apart from that, it’s a decent fish overall. Actually the temperature of the restaurant is just nice but it become non existent due to the spiciness! Dinner costed my $90+ which is pretty pricey imo. Staff is friendly and helpful too.
View on GoogleExcellent patin fish - even small was very good portion for the two of us. Grilled veggie skewers you can pick from fridge were done really well with spicy powder to dip on the side. Good service, good priced snow beer. Mentaiko fries were meh.
