Came here twice to eat their food. In general, the place feels homey. The food tastes like food you'd get if you went over to your friends house and their mom was cooking up something to eat. Pure homecooked food that tastes good. Portions are great too, and is just a short 5 minute walk away from bishan mrt. Definitely a good place to try if you're in the area! Worth the money and the stomach space.
View on GoogleAs someone who stayed in Beijing for half a year and enjoys travelling to China, this is my go-to China comfort food in Singapore. Very authentic cooking, that reminds me of my studying days. Absolutely enjoy the 水煮鱼,糖醋里脊,酸溜土豆丝,凉皮 and many more. And they still serve 王老吉, my all time favourite. Only issue is the relatively high prices and the lack of aircon, if not the place is definitely perfect for Chinese food! Updated 26 Sept. Came again w my friends. The 烤鱼 is great! Soup with delicious and the fish was fried to the point that you can almost chew all the bones. Really enjoyed the 京酱肉丝!love it! Updated 14 Aug 2025 Had more diff foods! The 酸菜鱼 is amazing! The soup is soooo good. The 辣子鸡 is bombs!
View on GoogleI recently visited this Chinese restaurant, and while the food was decent, I found it to be quite pricey for what it offers. The mala grilled fish stood out—it was flavorful, delicious, and noticeably less oily and salty compared to my previous visit, which was a pleasant surprise. However, there are a couple of downsides. The lack of air conditioning makes dining here a bit uncomfortable, especially on hotter days. Additionally, I noticed that some of their bowls weren’t washed properly, with visible residues left behind, which was disappointing. If you plan to dine here, I’d recommend bringing some wet wipes just in case. Overall, the food is average but satisfying, and if not for the high prices and cleanliness concerns, this place would be an excellent choice for Chinese cuisine.
View on GoogleA simple humble little hidden gem in bishan, nothing fancy set up but the food is surprising good. The signature Liang pi has the right amount of flavor not too spicy neither was it too sour. A nice dish for the hot weather. The stir fried are yummy and typical and Zhi char price, reasonable price no GST. :) a nice place to go for the food!
View on GoogleSurprisingly good food, especially the braised pork trotters. A little warm and stuffy though but boss is super friendly.
