Had a satisfying meal at Ambush! The BBQ ribs were incredibly tender and well-glazed, paired perfectly with a side of pasta and fresh broccoli. The salmon aubergine parmesan was cooked beautifully. The salmon skin was very crispy. The top-up set with mushroom soup and passion fruit drink were value for money. The latte came with lovely latte art and was smooth and well-balanced. On top of the delicious food, the service was fast and staff were attentive. Will definitely be back!
View on GoogleWent on the eve of holiday, manageable queue coz we have reservation. The portions of serving are good for solo or for sharing. A bit of a letdown on the carbonara but all the dishes we ordered are appetizing. Good ambiance and kudos to the friendly and approachable staff.
View on GoogleOrdered the Sausage Pan and the Oxtail Bourguignonne. Both didn’t disappoint although I thought the portion for the Sausage Pan could have been a bit better. I couldn’t quite taste the dark beer sauce but the Truffle Pork Wurst has that distinct truffle flavour, yet not overpowering. The Smoked Kurobuta Wurst was not quite smoky. Sauerkraut is so tangy and it helped to cut away that heaviness of the dense pork sausages. I truly enjoyed the Oxtail — it states 36-hour Braised oxtail and truly the meat was so very tender and it so soaked in the gravy. The added sweetness of the diced carrots and potato puree made this dish a winner and completed a satisfying Mother’s Day’s meal for me. I chose the Oxtail because that is one dish I would not really cook at home and coming to eat this here is worth the money paid. There is always a queue here so do eat at non-mealtimes. Oh, there is a carafe of water too on each table — free.
View on GoogleA very classic Western restaurant with a nice and cosy ambience in Junction 8. The salad was surprisingly good — the dressing was well balanced, not too vinegary and not overly sweet or jam-like, so it didn’t have the usual sharp taste that some salads do. The salmon was fresh, nicely seasoned, and definitely up to standard. It’s a dish you won’t regret ordering. The most impressive item for us was the tiramisu — rich, bold in flavour, and very close to a traditional tiramisu, which made it really memorable. The only disappointing part was that the tiramisu was not available for takeaway. Still, this is a highly recommended place for couples or friends who enjoy a quiet place with quality food and a fine dining feel. We will definitely come back again for the tiramisu!
View on GoogleWe had a disappointing dinner. been a customer since they started... just when I suggested this restaurant bcuz I've not been for a long time... Service wasn't great to begin with. Man (Jeremy) was merely serving, not providing the service he should be. he took our order, very normal, not at all enthusiastic. When we ordered the steak. He said "we only have US steak!" confidently (arrogance actually). Fine, we take it and it's Ribeye. highest $ among the steak i think. Sadly when it was served, steak was overcooked. requested for medium rare, but served medium well. the moment I sliced, its overdone. Just when he serve the next dish, I told him that the steak was overdone. he took back reluctantly. And we felt bad, thinking just take it back. you should see his happy way of going back to the kitchen to retrieve that overdone steak. man! in f&b, if food is sent back to kitchen. it should never return to a cust. steak was actually so thin. easily overcooked. Our boys wanna have desserts, we didn't want to. but, we just ordered anyway. this time, an Indian staff came to us. His service and approach was better, at least he smiled. And we said to ourselves. Could the service be better if we were served by him instead?!
