Daelim Changgo has a really unique atmosphere thanks to the warehouse-style building, and I liked how that character carries through both inside and out. There were plenty of baked goods to choose from, which made the visit feel more enjoyable, even though the coffee leaned a bit expensive. For me, the setting made it worth it overall, and it’s the kind of place I’d stop by again.

The design and architecture here are honestly amazing — the whole industrial space turned into a gallery café looks very stylish and unique. That said, the experience wasn’t as smooth as I expected. The music was way too loud, to the point where it felt a bit uncomfortable to just sit and relax. The bakery selection looked interesting and very appetizing, but I wasn’t that hungry, so I only tried a small piece. Coffee was average — I chose something from the specialty menu that was noticeably more expensive than usual for Seoul, but I didn’t really notice anything special about it. One thing that stood out in a negative way was the staff behavior. A barista quickly approached a guy with a small non-professional camera and told him he couldn’t take photos. Then the same staff member went to another table and asked a guest to remove their jacket from the table — even though they had already been sitting there for a while. It felt a bit too strict and tense for a place that otherwise looks so creative. Overall, the space itself is great, but with more relaxed staff and lower music volume, the experience would be much better. Right now it feels a bit overhyped.

The café is spacious with plenty of seating, making it a good place to relax. The tiramisu was overly sweet, and I could barely taste the espresso. The croissant was just okay. The matcha tasted like instant powder, and the sweetness couldn’t be adjusted. Overall, it’s a good place to sit and rest, but not the best choice if you’re looking for great food or drinks.

대림창고 (Daelim Changgo) is the kind of place that earns its cult status honestly. A former warehouse in Seongsu transformed into one of Seoul’s most atmospheric coffee spaces — industrial bones, warm character, and the quietly theatrical sight of the owner roasting beans live in a side room, as though the entire operation is both performance and passion project. I am not, by any admission, a coffee person. And yet the Rooibos blend served here gave me pause: fragrant, nuanced, and possessed of a clarity that made it one of the finest cups I have encountered. A perfect pit stop — and rather more than that.

From the outside, the signage is so subtle it almost demands you know exactly what you are looking for. But stepping inside this former warehouse in Seongsu feels like entering a grand, industrial theater. The sheer scale of the space—the ridiculously high ceilings, the exposed iron pillars, and the raw red bricks—carries a cinematic weight. When the afternoon sunlight pours through those massive old windows, it feels like a Ghibli set repurposed for Seoul's fashion crowd. I visited on a quiet weekday. I had the Matcha Latte and a piece of Cake. The dessert was surprisingly delicate, offering a soft textural contrast to the heavy, rustic surroundings, while the earthy notes of the matcha grounded the experience. It is a place to sit back, taste your drink, and simply watch the city perform. A true cultural landmark.
