Great locals market - not too big and sprawling but big enough that you pretty much get everything you need from freshly pressed sesame oil to jeon and banchan and fruit and lovely local diners. Not at all crowded and easy to navigate It’s located walking distance from one of the Han river park so a great place to pickup picnic food supplies

If there’s one Korean market I’d personally recommend visiting in Seoul, it would be Mangwon Market. Start from World Cup-ro 13-gil and make your way toward Mangwon-ro. The market has a bit of everything, yet it doesn’t feel as crowded or touristy as some of the other markets. You really get a sense of everyday local life here. Make sure you come with an empty stomach and a big appetite—you’re in for one hell of a Korean street-food experience. There’s so much to eat and try along the way. The market itself isn’t very long, so you won’t get lost—it’s basically a straight line. I also love how spacious it feels compared to other markets in Seoul, making it easy to walk around and explore. After Mangwon Market, there’s another covered market, but that section is mostly for wet goods and fresh produce. For me, the main Mangwon Market stretch is the more enjoyable part to explore.

After finishing a long ride across Korea, I stopped by Mangwon Market and it felt like exactly the right place to take a break. The stalls were fun to wander through, and even on tired legs I found plenty to look at. It was a relaxed, satisfying stop and a nice way to refuel before moving on.

It’s not a very big market, but it has a really authentic Korean traditional vibe. On one side, u’ll see the wet market area selling raw meat, fish, seafood, etc. On the other side, there are plenty of food stalls where u can easily settle ur breakfast with local dishes like soup noodles. We came around 10+ in the morning, and the crowd was still quite manageable considered less busy so it was a great time to take a walk and soak in the local atmosphere. We picked one of the stalls selling noodle soup, and the taste was pretty decent (for a foreigner 😄). We spent about 1.5 hours here, including breakfast. Overall, it’s a really nice market and definitely worth a visit if u want to explore the local vibe.

Mangwon Market was such a great experience in Seoul. The prices were very reasonable, especially for the quality and variety of food available. There were so many seafood options — it was hard to choose! We ordered crab with rice and it was absolutely delicious. While waiting for our crab, we grabbed sushi from another vendor inside the market, and that was also very fresh and tasty. I honestly wish I could have eaten more because I wanted to try everything, but I was completely full after our meal. Definitely a must-visit if you’re in Seoul. I also recommend bringing cash, as it’s the easiest way to pay at most stalls.
