Mangwon Hangang Park Mangwon Hangang Park is one of those places where the scale immediately hits you — wide, open lawns stretching along the Han River with nothing really obstructing the view. It’s spacious in a way that feels intentional, giving you room to walk, sit, cycle, or just exist without feeling crowded. The highlight is the view towards Seongsandaegyo Bridge, which anchors the entire landscape — especially at night when it lights up and becomes one of the more photogenic spots along the river. What makes the park work is how functional it is beyond just the view. There are proper cycling paths, sports courts, open exercise areas, and even water activities if you want to take it further — it’s built for actual use, not just scenery. You’ll see people running, playing, having picnics, cooking instant ramen by the river, or just sitting with a drink watching the sunset. It’s a very “liveable” kind of space — not curated, not overly aesthetic — just a well-designed stretch of city that people naturally gravitate towards.
View on GoogleA park where locals love to come for picnic, jogging cycling or just for a walk. Along the path, plentiful of children’s playground, exercise equipment, basketball court and also a battle ship park. Many shops nearby and very close to mangwon market. A great place to get that ramyeon and eat by the river. It can be really crowded in the evening often difficult to find a spot if you come at peak sunset hours. A few shops nearby the river park entrance where one can rent picnic gears.
View on GoogleMangwon Hangang Park is one of the more relaxed and local-friendly parks along the Han River. Compared to the bigger, busier Hangang parks like Yeouido or Banpo, Mangwon feels more laid-back and community-oriented. It’s a great place for cycling, jogging, or simply enjoying a riverside stroll. The facilities are well-kept, with bike rentals, convenience stores, and plenty of open grassy areas for picnics. On weekends, you’ll see families, couples, and groups of friends setting up mats, ordering delivery fried chicken, and enjoying the river breeze. The sunset views here are especially beautiful, with the skyline and bridges in the background. It’s less crowded than the major Hangang parks, which makes it perfect if you prefer a quieter atmosphere while still having access to amenities. Accessibility is easy via Mangwon Station, and the walk from the station to the park is pleasant, passing through local neighborhoods. Overall, Mangwon Hangang Park is a charming riverside escape—ideal for a casual outing, exercise, or simply soaking in the everyday vibe of Seoul. If time permits, you might want to takeaway some food from the nearby Mangwon Market and walk 20-25 mins here for a fun picnic.
View on GoogleBeautifull place with nice atmosphere. I reccomend to visit at the evening after sunset. Also, wait for a colourfull waterfall. There is several nice places to have a coffee or refresments. I think this place is great for date. You can also go for a walk alongside the river.
View on GoogleThis place is so packed with locals during weekends. This is a han river park that actually faces sunset. There is a lane with cherry blossom trees line so it's very pretty during spring. You can rent mat/bring your own and have picnic here. You can buy meals like ramen at the convinience store nearby or bring your own favorite snacks. Personally i like to bring some food from mangwon market.
