We went to the Hongdae area around 8 PM. The place is nice, clean, and full of colorful streets. There are tons of places for shopping and food, and we ended up exploring Artbox along with a few other stores. Honestly, I was expecting more street performances and lively entertainment because of all the hype around Hongdae, but maybe we visited at the wrong time. The vibe felt pretty laid-back that evening. Overall, it’s still a fun area to walk around, shop, eat, and just chill for a while — but personally, I didn’t fully get the hype.

Hongdae Shopping Street has such a fun energy to it. I liked how there was always something going on, from music to street performances, so even just walking around felt entertaining. It has a lively, youthful atmosphere that makes the whole area feel full of personality, and I’d happily come back again.

Hongdae Shopping Street felt much more lively and local to me than some of the other busy shopping areas in Seoul. I liked the mix of people, the energy, and the fact that it seemed more authentic overall. If you want a place that feels less tourist-heavy and more like everyday Seoul, this is a great area to spend time in.

Hongdae Street is lively, vibrant, and full of personality. There’s always something happening — street performances, music, and dancers that instantly lift the mood and make the area feel alive. The shops are fun to browse, with lots of cute items, trendy fashion, and quirky finds you don’t easily see elsewhere. Everything feels youthful, fancy in a playful way, and creatively styled, from accessories to cafes. It’s the kind of place where you can wander without a plan, soak in the energy, and just enjoy the buzz. Whether you’re shopping, people-watching, or stopping to watch a performance, Hongdae never feels boring 💃🛍️
