A classic local seolleongtang restaurant near Chungjeongno Station, operating since 1972. I ordered the regular Seolleongtang (₩12,000), and it came quickly with kimchi, kkakdugi, and barley tea. The soup already includes rice inside, which is convenient for solo diners. The beef slices were thin, tender, and soft, making the texture very satisfying. The real highlight was the kimchi and kkakdugi—well fermented, slightly salty, fresh, and perfectly matched with the soup. The restaurant looks small from outside, but inside it has around 60 seats and feels much more spacious than expected. Quiet old Korean music creates a nostalgic atmosphere. The restroom is small but clean. No English menu, but ordering is simple. About a 5-minute walk from Chungjeongno Station. SES Score: 24/30 Taste 5 | Value 4 | Vibe 4 | Service 4 | Facility 4 | Repeat 4 A strong recommendation for travelers who want a real local Korean food experience.
View on GoogleIn A Nutshell: -This seolleongtang restaurant has been in business since 1972! -I enjoy eating at long established places like these since they usually have a winning recipe. -The Korean ladies who worked there were very kind & hardworking. -I loved the fresh kimchi, the plethora of diced green onions, the sea salt & of course the piping hot seolleongtang soup. Overall, I would recommend grabbing a bowl of this delicious soup for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
View on GoogleIt’s one of the famous Korean style beef stew(설렁탕 Sullungtang). You may smell taste of oldness on entering here. However this smell is I love, old enough traditional restaurant may have this kind of smell. You will enjoy full of soup with rice along with amazing Kimchi!
View on Google12,000krw for a bowl of seolleongtang that comes with rice, complimentary kimchi and drink. Add as much spring onion & salt to your taste, was SO tasty. Super nice ladies and you can watch them prep/boil the bones in the kitchen. Mostly locals here!
View on GoogleIts a shop down a small alley near a bus stop. Mostly koreans in the store (I guess that ensure the quality - blur tourist here), they serve within a 3 mintues or so once you order. You can add the amount of salt, pepper, spring onions that you want. Highly recommended to come here to taste sellongtang. I would say it is very cheap for the quality served
