Took 2 teas, one was with pear flavour (the other one don’t remember - was with seeds). I liked the one with pear, the other one not so much. They were both very sweet. The place is super pleasant and chill. I also consider the prices pretty expensive for a tea.
View on GoogleWe noticed this traditional tea house offering red bean porridge — one of my husband’s favourites — so we decided to give it a try even though we had just finished coffee and sweets about 15 minutes earlier. We initially wanted to order just one porridge, but there’s a minimum order of two per pair, so we added a rice cake as well. The rice cake was reasonably priced and came with three different flavours. The red bean porridge, however, was on the pricier side and had a unique cinnamon note that may not suit everyone’s taste. The ambience is traditional and charming, but the seating isn’t particularly comfortable, and the food itself was just average. Overall, it feels like you’re mainly paying for the traditional atmosphere. If you’re looking for ambience, this is a nice place to visit; if you’re prioritising food quality, you might consider other options.
View on GoogleOn a smaller size compared to the other tea houses I visited. The pear tea was well-balanced with the warmth of ginger complementing the natural sweetness of the pear. Calm and comfortable place to unwind after exploring Insadong.
View on GoogleLove Shin Old Tea House in Insadong! I’d seen photos and videos of this place online, and it completely lived up to the hype. The atmosphere is peaceful and cozy, with beautiful traditional décor that makes you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. I had the Jujube tea, and Hangwa, which are puffy rice snacks that melts as you eat, which were delicious when taken together. The staff was kind and welcoming, and it’s also a comfortable spot for solo visitors. A true hidden gem and a must-visit in Insadong.
View on GoogleThe tea house was a very relaxing ,peaceful and cute place. I tried Korean traditional tea called Black Herbal Tea and some traditional sweets. The tea was just ok, it was too strong and the taste was interesting. Sweets were all delicious! If you wanna experience Korean traditional style tea house, I recommend to go. But I won’t come back. Just one time experience is fine.
