An institution for a reason. This Michelin restaurant serves the most gorgeous homemade dumplings and soups. I went vegetarian and had the special summer soybean soup, which was rich and incredible, and the giant mushroom dumplings. Both dishes were impeccable. Staff were helpful and service was quick. I just wish there were more half serves for solo diners! The restaurant is also a traditional building. A great space.

Very authentic place. Luckily there was no wait when I arrived. The kimchi was excellent — fresh, balanced and not overly spicy. I ordered the dumplings in soup with rice cakes and it was a very filling meal. The flavor of the soup itself is quite mild and subtle. That’s not a bad thing — it just seems to be the style here rather than a bold, punchy broth. The white radish water kimchi served on the side was a nice touch and worked well to refresh the palate between bites. Overall a simple, traditional and satisfying experience.

This place is great. Not a very extensive menu but it's okay. Everyone typically goes for the pork or kimchi dumplings with soup. There is a vegetarian option which is mushroom dumpling with various veggie fillings. There is a line up but when I went on a Sunday evening ...it was quick turnaround to get to us. Highly recommend if you are in the area and a fan of dumplings!

If you love traditional Korean dumplings, this place is the real deal. But be prepared to wait! We waited almost 40 minutes just to get a seat, so definitely factor that into your plans. The venue has a very cozy and traditional setting, featuring beautiful wooden beams and warm lighting. (you can even see their rows of Michelin Guide badges displayed by the counter!). They have also set up a dedicated live-prep area where you can watch them expertly hand-craft the dumplings from scratch. Unlike most Korean food that is usually quite heavy, super spicy, or salty, the traditional dumplings here taste incredibly clean, wholesome, and not oily at all. It honestly feels like a comforting, healthy home-cooked meal. We tried The Dry Pork Dumplings & the Kimchi Dumplings The dumpling skin is thin, and the fillings are quite generous. The kimchi version gives you a nice, subtle kick but still manages to taste very clean. We also ordered the Pork Dumplings in Soup: This was super comforting. The broth is very clear and light, beautifully topped with some seaweed flakes and tender shredded beef. We also ordered a seafood pancake on the side. This one was actually not bad! It has a quite decent texture, stays nice and crispy at the edges, and goes perfectly with the dipping sauce. We also ordered the cold noodles. But we felt it was a disappointment. Almost tasteless (or maybe we were missing some ingredient) Note, the restaurant has policy that all customers need to order a main course. Sharing is allowed, but each seated customer will need to order a main dish. If you want a break from all the heavy, spicy BBQ and fried chicken in Seoul, Gaeseong Traditional Dumpling House is a very good, wholesome choice.

Chanced upon this place and saw that they have been recognised by Michelin 2017 - 2025 As it was not a regular meal time, there was only 1 person in front of us in the queue. We were glad to be able to queue and get a table in a fairly short time. Service was good, and the staff were obviously well accustomed to dealing with crowds quickly. Interestingly, I found the kimchi seafood pancake much more yummy than their famous dumplings. The dumplings are big and generously filled, but I have to say it wasn't very tasty on its own. Please note that they have a minimum of 1 dish per pax.
