Really down-to-earth neighborhood restaurant. My favorite dish here is their boiled beef and here’s how you eat it: you wrap the beef and chives and their specially delicious kimchi (if I’m not wrong there’s fresh fermented shrimp in it) inside the thinly sliced daikon wrap, for some reason everything just tastes magical when mixed together! Their mandu is also pretty good. The service is fast and efficient and friendly.
View on GoogleOne of the most famous kalguksu restaurants in Seoul, proven by being on the Michelin Bib Gourmand list for 9 years in a row! Conveniently located near Gyeongbokgung Palace and Bukchon Hanok Village, it's very busy most of the time. Initially, we came around 12 pm, and there was already a full line on the numerous waiting seats outside the restaurant. We decided to eat somewhere else, do a bit of sightseeing, and come back around 4 pm. Even then, we still had to queue for around 15-20 minutes. We decided to try their popular dishes of kalguksu and mandu. The noodles in the kalguksu have this perfect chewiness, and the broth is deceptively flavorful. The mandu is definitely a jumbo-sized dumpling, luckily it has thin skin, and the vegetables in the stuffing have some crunch to them. Lastly, the bossam (boiled pork) itself is okay, but the accompanying kimchi is what elevates this dish. It is different from the one you normally get, I'm not too sure what the difference is, but it definitely works well with the pork. Food - 9 Service - 9 Vibe - 7 Price - $$
View on GoogleMy daughter recommended this place for lunch, and I'm so glad she did — what a wonderful surprise! The noodles and mandu were absolutely delicious, and the broth was remarkably clear and refreshing. The radish kimchi wrapped in lettuce is unlike anything you'll find at a supermarket, it comes with the boil meat set. Highly recommend!

View on GoogleThe hand cut noodle soup and side of mandu an absolute must try when in Seoul. Absolutely delicious, fresh and with a side of some of the best red and white kimchi we had in Korea.
